Oliver is agnostic while Naomi is Catholic. Although Cecilia and Rafael refer to themselves as Catholics their families often practice and correlate Catholicism with Santeria.

Meet Rafael

Name: Rafael Badejo

Nickname: The Honeybee

Background: His father came from Africa and moved to Cuba, where he met Rafael’s mother. They fell in love and Rafael along with his siblings were born. He has two other siblings, including an older sister and a younger brother. He usually goes to his grandparents every summer except the current one, because his family is hosting someone.

Personality: He is very sensitive and soft-hearted, which he always considered a weakness of his. He tends to enjoy peoples company but likes to keep to himself. He has a bad sense of humor and is always the rational person in any given situation.

Color: Forest green

Likes: paintings, cuban food, sharp colors, Ramona

Dislikes: rude people, the kids at his school, his shyness, misunderstandings

Insecurities: He fears because of his shyness he’ll never get the chance to tell people how he really feels

Name: Cecilia Álvarez

Nickname: The Wildfire

Background: She was born and raised in Cuba. She has an older sister who got pregnant by accident, eventually leaving her son with Cecilia and her mother to take care of. Her mother was a single parent but never around because she has to work so she always leaves her grandson with Cecilia. All the kids at her school love her and she’s very extroverted.

Personality: She is very carefree and allows herself to live and laugh and have fun. She is very friendly and is able to read a room quite easily. She tries her best to get others to talk and she tries her best to make everyone feel comfortable.

Color: orange

Likes: soccer, fashion, socializing, her friends, trustworthy people

Dislikes: her ex-boyfriend, awkward conversations, stains, calling someone else art your own

Insecurities: losing herself, losing Naomi because of her feelings for Oiver

Name: Naomi Fernandez

Nickname: The Cosmos

Background: Naomi was born in Puerto Rico but was given up for adoption when her mother was a teenager, and the father had left. She was later adopted by her Cuban parents while visiting Puerto Rico and they brought her to the United States, where she lived in Texas for most of her life. Her father was born in Cuba but left for the United States where he met Naomi’s mother.

Personality: She is very empathetic but has a hard time getting close to others. She tends to live in her own world. Tends to be too selfless. Has a very rocky relationship with her father.

Color: Blue

Likes: Journaling, all things space, blue, spending time with family, photography

Dislikes: Partying, rudeness, surprises

Insecurities: She feels like an outsider in her own culture, she fears abandonment

Career: Astronaut

Meet Oliver

Name: Oliver Han/ Han Jeong-soo

Nickname: The Mural

Background: Oliver was born and raised in England. His dad's parents were born in South Korea and moved to England when his dad was a child. After his dad graduated from high school he went to university in South Korea where he met Oliver’s mom. They fell in love and she later followed him to England, where they started their flower shop business. After settling his mom went on to become a lawyer while his dad worked the flower shop, and Oliver would help.

Personality: Oliver is very reserved. He keeps to himself and tries not to get caught up in attention. He has an edgy style and is very snarky. After getting his heart broken he is more reserved and tries not to get close to people.

Color: Turquoise

Likes: Painting, flowers, piano etudes, soft things.

Dislikes: crowds, attention, feelings and weeds.

Insecurities: Being vulnerable with another person and not being enough.
