OY That's it. Closing this blog down. I just arrived at home, after 550 days of being an Au-Pair. Enough with GIFs about my saturday morning struggles and about kids half your size yelling at you. Share it with your fellow au-pair friends who definitely struggle the same way as I did and as probably all of you who reblogged and liked my stuff did ;) (Maybe don't share it with people who are thinking of doing an Au-Pair year though hehe)
seeya on the flip side.
Your blog is hilarious I still laugh :)
appreciate it!
When you’re changing your host child’s poopy diaper and she keeps reaching for it.
When you fit everything in your suitcase (and the additional 2 that you just bought).
When you smell your host child's diaper.
>>QUESTION<<
Where can I get the biggest suitcase for the smallest price?
I live in NY, could definitely shop for one in NYC, don't want it shipped to me. Please. Help. So. Much. Stuffffff.
(???)
When your host child finally wipes his own butt.
When you see new Au-Pairs coming to a meeting.
Hi when do you finish your au pair placement? I'm looking into being an au pair in France or America and im skyping a french family on Sunday, do you have any tips on what to say or ask?
Hi!I matched with my host family about 5 months before I actually arrived. Tips:
- be yourself (as obvious as it sounds)
- ask LOTS of questions (about the kids, the area, family habits, trips, etc.)
- don't hesitate telling them your fears/what you worry about (be honest)
- don't get nervous just because their English is (most likely) SO much better than yours - it's cool.
When you get your salary for two weeks.
I actually love your blog, I just found it and i'm crying at how spot on it is :')
thanks, appreciate it & glad to know that I'm not alone out there ;-9
When your host child wants to enter the pantry for snacks.
When your weekend consists of a concert and a trip to Florida with your host family while also containing the day that marks the beginning of your fucking FINAL MONTH.
When your 5-year old wants to stay up until midnight at NYE.
When your host mom is home.
When you think of waking up on Monday after a fine work-free weekend.
