I think one of my favorite subtle running themes of Psychonauts is just how utterly incompetent and disorganized the actual Psychonauts organization is. Everyone who isn't a star agent is a useless bureaucrat, every high-ranking member is a different type of "crazy" or "dumb" and the whole thing nearly got toppled by a mailroom clerk until a ten year old boy saved them.
