Adam prospered due to five things:
He acknowledged his sin.
He was remorseful.
He blamed himself.
He hastened to repent.
He did not despair from the mercy of Allaah.
And Iblis became wretched due to five things:
He did not accept nor acknowledge his sin.
He was remorseless.
He did not blame himself, rather he attributed it (his sin) to his Lord.
He did not repent.
He despaired from the mercy of Allaah.

The secret to getting your du’as answered can be found in the du’a of Prophet Sulayman!
﴿قال رب اغفر لي وهب لي ملكا لا ينبغي لأحد من بعدي إنك أنت الوهاب﴾
He said: My Lord, forgive me and give me a kingdom the like of which will never be granted to anyone after me. Truly You are the Ever-Giving!
He asked Allaah to forgive his shortcomings before requesting something from Him.
Why? Because sometimes our sins get in the way of our prayers being answered.
Du’as are accepted when one does istighfar and tawbah first!
He ended his du’a by praising Allaah.
Look at the wisdom behind this! He starts by acknowledging his own weakness and asks Allaah to forgive him, then after making a request, he clarifies and praises the majesty of Allaah!
He clarifies that only Allaah can grant him this request, because only Allaah has the generosity and bounty to grant such a blessing!
Du’as are accepted when Allaah is sincerely praised!

Al-‘Abbās, the uncle of the Prophet ﷺ, came to the Prophet and said:
“Ya Rasūlullāh, teach me a du'ā’.” .
The Prophet ﷺ said: “O my uncle, say: اللهم اني اسالك العافية Allāhumma inni asaluka al-‘āfiyah (O Allāh, I ask you for ‘āfiyah).”
What is ‘āfiyah? ‘Āfiyah means
To save me from any afflictions. To be healthy you are in ‘āfiyah. To have enough money you are in 'āfiyah. To have your children protected you are in 'āfiyah. And if you are forgiven and not punished you are in 'āfiyah".
Āfiyah means: “O Allāh, protect me from *any* pain and suffering.” (This includes dunya and ākhirah)
Al-'Abbās thought about this for a while, and then he came back after a few days and said:
“Ya Rasūlullāh ﷺ, this du'ā’ seems a little short. I want something big.”
The Prophet ﷺ said, “My dear uncle, ask Allāh ﷻ for 'āfiyah for wallāhi, you cannot be given anything better than 'āfiyah.”

Qurʾān: Quality over Quantity
Ibn al-Qayyim said:
“If the people knew the sweetness, and benefits in pondering over the Qurʾān when reading it, they would have kept themselves busy with nothing else but reading Qurʾān.
For reading and pondering over one verse is better than a ḵẖatma (completion of the whole Qurʾān) without contemplation nor understanding. It's also more beneficial to the heart, attains Īmān and makes one taste the sweetness of the Qurʾān.”

How to Change from being a Toxic Person
Even if you’ve hurt other people in the past, or have been the kind of person that you really don’t respect, you can always make the decision to change. The tips below might be helpful for this.
1. Look for the good in everyone you meet.
2. Remind yourself of this: “That it’s not all about you”. The feelings and the wishes of others matter too.
3. Be polite; try saying “thank you”; and note what others do. Acknowledge when they help, or are thoughful towards you.
4. Think before you speak. This will save a lot of grief. For once those words are spoken, they can’t be taken back.
5. Check your tone of voice and the words you choose to use. These can cause misunderstandings, and cause upset or pain.
6. Don’t gossip about others; choose to build them up instead.
7. Don’t take the bait, and don’t be be pulled into an argument. Just let the comment go. You don’t need to rise to that.
8. Make the effort to be kind, and offer others your support. Also, do something that’s special, and demonstrates you care.
Imam Shafi’i رحمه الله said:
“You will never be able to please everyone, rather rectify what is between you and Allāh and do not care about the people.”

هَلْ جَزَآءُ ٱلْإِحْسَٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلْإِحْسَٰنُ
Is the reward for good [anything] but good?
-Quran [55:60]
كانوا يتواصون عند الشدائد:
They used to comfort each other upon facing calamities by saying:
إنما هي ايّام قلائل والموعد الجنة!
“It is but a few days and Jannah is the promise!”
