Magical Correspondences of Coffee
I recently accepted the fact that I have a lactose aversion, which saddens me because I slam milk like it's the 90's. The stabbing abdominal pain and jank ass bowel movements outweigh the weird satisfaction I get from cow milk.
On a vaguely related note, milk/cream is something that one might put in coffee, and is associated with nurturing, power and protection. Think of your coffee cup as a cauldron, and the coffee is the base liquid, the things you add to it can be charged with magical intent and that magic will follow you through your whole day.
Here's some popular coffee additives and their correspondences:
Coffee: stimulant, great for energy work and cleansing
Sugar: love, purification, attraction
Honey/Maple/Syrups: binding, attraction, love
Milk/Cream: nurturing, power, protection
Soy Milk: protection, job success
Coconut Milk: protection, cleansing
Oat Milk: grounding, prosperity, wealth
Almond Milk: prosperity, healing, wealth, wisdom
Vanilla: happiness, love, good fortune
Add some of these to your coffee, stir with intent, and watch how it effects your day. Happy casting

remember that protection is the most important thing in witchcraft
The most important witch tip you will ever read
NEVER abandon professional medical advice and help in favour of witchcraft methods.
Just 4000 notes? I’ve seen mere fun and entertaining witchy posts with 15000 notes. Perhaps this one is far too true and it makes some folks uncomfortable either because they don’t follow this advice (which they should) or they don’t think it’s as true as it really is (which they’re wrong).
And this goes for ALL religions, races, and people of the world, not just witches and pagans.
This means YOU too, spoonie witches! I’ve seen some witchy types neglect to get medical care that they need saying that, “Oh, I just need to find out what energies are affecting me, what I need to eliminate energetically, what I need to let go of in my shadow work” ect. NO. Get medical care, and do not abandon medical advice! You can always enhance your care with your witchy methods, but IT IS NOT A REPLACEMENT. I realize this might ruffle some feathers, but remember that it’s all about balance. I’ll get energy work, I’ll use medicinal herbs, I’ll work with crystals, I’ll use spellcraft and other magical means to aid my body with dealing with my illnesses. But I will sill take the medications I need, and I will still see my doctors- and you should too. And if I ever see someone act “witchier than thou” about someone using western medicine, instead of relying solely on natural and witchy methods, I will NOT be kind about it.
Cat Whiskers in Witchcraft
Cat whiskers are very magical! They can be used in any spell to give it a huge magical boost! They are also very good for good luck, and protection.
A cat uses it’s whiskers to keep itself safe- they let the cat know if it can fit into a tight place or not. Therefore, cat whiskers an be used for protection. Especially when traveling, in this or the Otherworlds- cats are said to walk between the worlds, after all. Since they are quite thin and hard to spot when not on the cat- and therefore difficult to find- they also have the properties of good luck and fortune.
You can also burn a whisker to boost manifestation. There is even an old wives’ tale that says if you burn a cat whisker and make a wish, that your wish will come true!
Keep a few in your car for protection and to avoid accidents. (I put mine in a little baggie or in a sealed labeled envelope in the glove compartment.)
Some other interesting magical uses based on what a cats whisker might mean to you: Using them to make sure that something fits, gets past obstacles, or for an extra pit of perception (since this is the use of a cat’s whiskers). If it’s a black whisker, it could be used for something you want to remain a secret. Putting good luck and perception thoughts together, use them to help find lost items.
Remember, never cut a cat’s whiskers! It can be very confusing and stressful for the cat because it’s a part of their natural senses. Wait until they’re shed naturally :) I find it helpful to search in my cat’s favorite spots, or just keep an eye out for them before vacuuming. A bright flashlight can help you find them easier!
Don’t have a cat? There are witchy kitty owners who sell their cats’ naturally shed whiskers on Etsy!
witch tip: citrus peels.
when peeling your fruit, remove as much of the pith (the white fleshy stuff inside) as possible. wash the the pieces of peel (you don’t want dirt or anything else to get into your spell right?), then leave them out to dry somewhere they’ll be undisturbed. i leave mine about one day on one side, then flip them over so I know both sides will be completely dried out.
once they’re dry, you can break them into small pieces or grind them as fine as you want. grinding them may take a while so I would suggest doing that in advance of when you’ll need them.
I use lemon and lime for purification and banishing, orange for happiness and positivity, and tangerine for a potency boost to whatever i’m doing. feel free to use your own correspondences, of course!
♡ Witch Tip: Eggshells ♡
I’m a “green” witch. I work with plants. I grow all kinds of things. And let me tell you, eggshells are my best friend. They’ve become essential to my practice where my plants are concerned.
What eggshells are good for:
♡ Extra nutrients for your green babes
♡ Pest/bug deterrent
♡ Spells
♡ Protection (can be used as a replacement for salt)
♡ Feeling witchy (imagine the poof of powder floating around you and your plants as you recite an incantation)
Whenever I use eggs, I keep the eggshells and rinse them clean in water. After they dry, I grind them up into a fine powder/dust with my mortar and pestle. I keep the powder in a small mason jar with a charged sigil drawn on the lid for plant growth and protection. When I feel that my plant babes need it, I sprinkle the powder around them in a circle and over top of them. Sometimes I’ll say or think the words “growth and protection” to make my intent clear. The eggshell on the plant’s leaves and in the soil will deter insects that like to chew on your lil babes and provide a calcium boost. Depending on what type of spell you want to perform, you can also mix other organic materials (that are beneficial to your plants) in with the eggshell powder.
As an added bonus, this spell never fails to bring me closer to my plants ♡
(cheap) Invisibility Spells for Anxious Witches
Amaranth Invisibility Spell- Wear amaranth flowers for an aura of invisibility
Bay Leaf Opal Spell- Wrap an opal in bay leaves charging them with your will. Carry them with you for invisibility.
Cat’s Eye Invisibility- Charge a cat’s eye gemstone with your intent and desire and carry it in a mojo hand to promote invisibility
Fern Seed Spell- Fern seeds are actually the spores on the leaves of the common fern. Scrape them from the leaves and carry the seeds in a mojo bag to promote invisibility
Magic Mirror Invisibility Spell- 1. Holding a small magic mirror, cast a circle around you. The circumference defines your area of invisibility. 2. Holding the mirror so it faces away from you, turn counter-clockwise. 3. Visualize that those who look in your direction see only the mirror and hence themselves. 4. Step out of the circle: go about your business quietly with calm, smooth, minimal movement. Speaking loudly or abrupt movements may break the spell.

actually a very cool psychic trick, if you're trying to be a psychic:
I'm on a quest to rework my regular practices to become much lower energy.
Psychism - whether it be through Sight, Hearing, Taste, Touch, Smell, Knowing, or any of the senses - can be A) difficult to learn for the first time, B) draining, and C) often frustratingly symbolic or vague.
Today I remembered a trick I used to do :) it works really well.
Don't open your mind to detect just whatever comes up. Instead, choose a very specific set of symbols and see whether or not they are activated.
Let's say you're playing a game with friends where you try and guess what element an object is charged with.
Reaching out and feeling whatever vibes come can be very symbolic, like "I sense depth and coolness, darkness. I get the same feeling as looking at a mountain drenched in rain. But there is a strong flow here that moves everything..."
Try not doing that. We all agreed at the start of the game there would only be the four classic elements used, right? So why are you trying to see whatever vibes? You just need to see one of four things: a symbol of earth, air, fire, or water.
Specifying to yourself what each elemental symbol looks like, then reaching out to see which one appears to you: "I see an inverted triangle and the color blue."
It sounds stupid simple but it works ridiculously well.
Don't accept all input and then put the onus on yourself to interpret it. Choose a highly limited symbol set, and see which symbol appears.
Need to check on whether or not an object is charged? Maybe you can choose the numbers 1 through 3. If you hear "One," the object is without charge. If you hear "Two," it's moderately charged; "Three," fully charged.
A game where you check each other's emotions? Tell yourself what to do. Tell yourself what symbol sets are allowed. Maybe you just tell yourself, "look, remind me of a memory where I felt or observed as near to that emotion as we can get."
Just tell yourself what kind of symbolism you want!
This works for spirit contact too. "Tomato, you're showing me a desert but I don't know if that's because you need to dry out or because you're too dry. Please show me water if you want water, or a desert if you want to dry out, or food if you need fertilizer."
In a big way, psychism is just establishing a mutual language between you and the hidden world :) it can become a lot easier if you define and explain symbol sets that make sense to you - whether you are defining them to yourself or to the spirits around you.
"I've started to get strange psychic input since I began my practice but I don't know what it means, how do I find out?"
Maybe the spirits/your subconscious are working on trial and error just as much as you are! Establish and communicate what things you understand and are prepared to receive.
If you want tips:
Choose small symbol sets. You can have lots of them, after all. You don't need one all-encompassing symbol set for every kind of reading you do.
It is helpful to have a "not here" or "something else" symbol in each set :)

Wards
What is Warding?
Warding is a method of protection used to create an energetic safe space around you, your space or an object, it prevents unwanted energies from entering and minimizes the amount of offensive magic you need to perform. Casting a circle is a common temporary form of warding that witches often use, a protection circle is a ward the can be used during any spell work but is only meant to be used at that time. I have another lesson posted on my blog all about protection circles and different types of circles. Besides protection circles there are many other forms of warding that can work better depending on any given situation.
Wards are a very versatile form of magic that can protect a single entity or a space when given enough power. They can be programmed to let certain energies in or none at all making them very useful for many purposes. A ward can even be used to keep an entity out or in. As with anything else it is important to maintain and refresh your wards to protect you.
