I will genuinely never forgive anyone involved in making The Imitation Game for their absolute travesty of Alan Turing’s story.

He was intensely autistic, and gay, and *kind*.

He mentored people below him in the programme - including women, who pretty much everyone else was crappy to.

He had terrible allergies and went cycling in a gas mask in the country to avoid then, and when he got overstimulated at parties he pulled incredibly daft elaborate “walking into a cupboard” leaving gags to handle them that left everyone screaming on the floor despite the silliness.

He got on really well with kids and never talked down to them. He gave his neighbours his sugar rations on their kids’ birthdays so she could always make them birthday cakes - even when he was being persecuted after the war, even when he was suffering horrible side effects from the tortures they put him through.

He was such an utterly, genuinely lovely human being, and he deserved so much damn better, and at the very *least* he deserved to be portrayed as who he was in the 21st fucking century instead of falling into a whole slew of horrifically harmful stereotypes that erased the fucking gift he was to us all over again.

As someone that has been chronically on tumblr from ages 11 to 22 and has now flipped from being far left to centrist/right:

This is good. The shit I found in this hellhole was not age appropriate. No matter how much I thought I could handle it - I am still scarred to this day.

Ofc g0re has been banned now, but to this day I have the most realistic nightmares pretty much on the daily for 3 or so weeks after seeing a non-graphic "mųrder" on a show or movie.

I got exposed to p0rn at a very young age of 5 and this habit followed me since, UNTIL I quit cold turkey at 22 and disconnected from this platform. I am mentally and physically healthier. And my IRL friends that are still to this day on the app also are of the same opinion I was before of "oh I can handle it, it's no big deal". Children SHOULD NOT SEE THIS OR HAVE THIS NORMALISED TO THEM.

Damn what else... ah right, the ED community. Ofc suffered a lot from that for several years. If I didn't learn what I did off here- I would've likely never developed my ED. It's still with me, but I manage by eating healthy.

Ah, and I crunched a lot of stuff from throughout my life and still think I'd be happier as a trans man. But you see, I'm lucky. My pipeline was (once again from age of 11) marvel/dr who/sherlock/supernatural (with some lgbt) to aesthetic posting (with a bunch of p0rn intertwined) to TCC to ED to lgbt+ related to HEALING!!! (from pretty much all of the damage the aformentioned caused).

Now, if times were different (as when I was part of the lgbt+ in school we were mocked vs now it being so widespread that it is becoming a social contagion) and I just joined NOW- I'd dive into the lgbtqia+ straight away. I'd explore transing earlier. Heck, I'd probably even do it. But in reality, as an adult, I've done my research now and made the conscious and informed decision to never go near that or the risks associated. As a child I wouldn't be able to give informed consent or make an informed decision.

Sure, this is a quirky platform that's very "accepting" but kids shouldn't be aware of any of these things described above existing. In their prime learning years they should be acquiring knowledge about the hardcore science of the world, not the social sciences/behaviours etc.

So yeah, there is a reason they're doing it for kids. I can see this now as an adult that learned more about how the world functions. It's all about economics and how much they can get from you. There is a reason they propagate this onto children. Medically, who do you think they will get more money from: A neurotypical healthy kid that developed without a problem or a chronically online neurodivergent shut in kiddo that browses tumblr and tiktok while being su!c!daI at 12 and surrounding themselves by other kids and adults that are just like this?

You are a product to the corporations, and nothing more. The media simply fascilitates it. Of-fucking-course the children should be kept away from this.

Kind of fucked up how some people have to shit on the ground when nearly every building has a restroom these days. Places of business stop making your toilets ‘for customers only’ challenge. City planners start building some free standing public restrooms challenge.

Also kind of fucked up how people have to sleep on the ground when there are benches right there but they’ve got bars put on them to prevent lying down. City government stop making your architecture hostile challenge.

Like shit every time I see that stuff I get fucking pissed, just not at the homeless people. It would be so fucking easy to include a little accommodation in urban areas but instead they keep spending extra money to make things LESS accommodating it’s fucking bullshit. Like how does anyone NOT get mad when they see a human being sleeping on a fucking sidewalk right next to a bench that’s had some ugly metal thing slapped in the middle of it to prevent anyone lying down? That’s what evil looks like.

Sounds like an American problem tbh. One way to assure more housing needs are met is to lower demand for them, or at least cap it. That can be done via stricter border control.

You should be mad that money is leaving your country to help people that have nothing to do with your own instead of helping get your people off the streets (be it other wars, help for other countries etc). More on this in next paragraph. Rallying vs gov is nothing really, unless you agree to tax raising and it is guaranteed that that portion of raised tax goes towards this cause.

It frustrates me that virtue signalling for an abstract concept nothing to do with your nations own well being is something people advocate for (not the homeless cituation, but say like taking in refugees while NY and Cali are looking so grim for example). Same problem I have with Russia's invasion. They don't need that land- they've so much of it yet people still live like shit unless near main cities. Take care of your own before you think outside the box. And to take care of your own in the case of America is to lock the country down, not invite and accept a bunch of people that may not be able to sustain themselves and will end up on the street like you describe. That's just adding to the problem and worsening the chances of those on the street of getting off said street. And before you say they may need a refuge- they should fix their own countries. They're selfish to leave other people of their own nation to suffer what they decided to just move away from. Instead of resolving the problem at hand they don't just offload the issue to a random country AND they diminish the quality of life of their own people by not fighting for the right cause. That deserves no respect in my book. If families move away for children's sake that is still them contributing to the countries demise. It is teaching kids to not stand up for their roots and simply cower. Tragic that it's perceived as an okay thing and "protecting the family" rather than being grown adults and protecting the nation.

One of the problems with youth in america is the lack of pride in their roots, which is fair enough. The country was conquered and everyone's a mutt with close to no history considering the different times of moving there/how many generations they've lived there. People don't care for the country and so virtue signalling for problems unique to them is common. But you cannot make life better for people if you don't better what you already have. You have millions of people entering your country and worsening the market.

Anyway, I'm sure I'm just rambling at this point. But if you really want to help that problem and get people off the streets- consider not welcoming literally millions of new people that are competing with the ones on the street. You are not doing them any favours. Fix your home as it is now and then consider increasing the inflow if you TRULY want more migrants (which I cannot fathom why you would, but you do you).
