(im not the anon you just posted) maybe its bc I've always gravitated towards dan more (I like his humor better *and I find him attractive but that's besides the point*)... why do they always have it out for dan specifically? like they would criticize dan for x thing but praise it when phil does it?? i find that a lot of these are the same people who foam at the mouth for joint content... and then say dan was "ruining the vibe" (or something like that) by being in the video as well? like its obviously ok to have one that u like better but i was always so confused about this whole thing even certain videos he made (ttlmt is a good example) he got a ton of hate for being "one foot out the closet door" and they got even more mad when he had to go live and explain himself bc of the backlash- does this make sense?? am i the only one who notices this?? anyway #stopdanhate2022 ill be a dannie till i die

I think there’s a few factors, but it really boils down to branding — dan is the edgelord who gives his opinions and phil is the smol bean who doesn’t rock the boat. Except that they’re fully realized adult men and the easily digested branded personas haven’t been applicable in ages buuuuut 🤷🏻‍♀️ the internet simultaneously has a long memory and lack of object permanence

Absolutely, those kind of forward disclaimers just make me think of all the pushback he gets whenever he displays a moment of controversy/vulnerability/humanity, and I’m not saying zero feedback is warranted, I’m saying it feels very much like dan is a yappy dog who has gotten the no-no jar shaken at him enough times that he knows he’s got to give the preface — and what sucks most is despite the disclaimers he’s Still gonna have people telling him being being overdramatic about first world problems and blah blah blah
