if mary was a character in a combat based video game she’d get one huge attack that can do insane damage (re: the himm finale) but it has a long ass charge up time and an equally long cooldown so she’s mostly hiding or evading

I haven’t actually posted anything anywhere for like over a week about the DarkHarvest00 finale but I wanted to congratulate the team on closing it out! I’m so proud and happy to see the team pull off one helluva finale. I don’t know if the entire team is on tumblr still but I know @heathermooch still is. I briefly felt 15 years old again, watching slenderman on my phone in the dark.

Ok spoilers ahead because I wanted to highlight something in particular that was really impressive to me.

My absolute FAVORITE part of the finale was actually when Chris and Heather find the dead bodies sacrificed for the harvest and Heather starts to break down. I’ve been lurking around the ‘Verse since 2011-2012, and that scene invoked a sort of genuine pit in my stomach and revulsion that I don’t think has happened to me watching ‘Verse stuff in a really long time.

Like, I’m 28, I know who the actors are, I know how to do video effect stuff, I don’t really suspend my disbelief the way I did when I watched ‘Verse videos at age 15, I watch them as an appreciator and story enjoyer. But like, that sequence genuinely messed with me in a “this feels like something I’m not supposed to see” way. Like I felt kinda icky(In a good way)!!!! Like the scale of how many bodies were in the area, the fact that the flashlight made everything feel claustrophobic, and y’alls acting too - you guys sold it so well I got immersed in a way I haven’t in YEARS. Genuinely well done guys and congrats!!!
