For some reason, no matter how terrible of a day I have, listening to "Same Love" just makes me feel infinitely better. It reminds me of all the good things in this world: love, friendship, happiness, being part of something bigger than yourself. It just makes me feel so much better about what's around me for some reason.

It reminds me of some of my best friends, who happen to be gay, and how they can now legally be married. It reminds me about all the people in this world who will do anything to fight for what's right. It reminds me of passion and fascination, it reminds me to keep fighting for what I believe in.

Am I gay? No. Does it matter? Of course not. This song is about more than just gay rights. It's about being human.

Thank you, Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, and Mary Lambert, for reminding me to keep fighting.

On Episode 11

I know Tristian shippers are probably heartbroken everywhere. Actually, I was heartbroken at first while watching the episode. I was near tears during the scene where he told her he loved her.

But after thinking about it I couldn't have thought of a better ending for them. It brings me back to one of the things I absolutely adore about Dance Academy. It's just so REAL. Most shows would just throw them together with some crazy romantic scenario for the sake of ending the show on a good note. But Dance Academy was real.

I graduated high school this last year and what Christian said--"I will never love anyone the way I loved you"--just exemplifies how some relationships aren't meant to be. They work in theory. They work in moments. But they don't work in the long run. Some relationships only work in a certain environment, a certain time of your life. They won't last forever.

Does this mean that Christian and Tara will never find love again? Of course not. You can have more than one love in your life. Each one is different. They were each other's first loves, and they always will be. They'll always love one another. That doesn't mean they always have to be together.

Well done, Dance Academy. Struck me right in the feelz.
