heh, i’ve thought bout this before. IA with michelle on this. kiernan shipka and gavin leatherwood often do give off loads of old school hollywood vibes when they’re in character together. surprisingly so imo, that’s why it stood out to me, because while both actors are evidently attractive, they’re very modern in their looks. neither fits the old school h’wood molds for leading man and woman (like kiernan’s mad men co-stars january jones and john hamm do, for example), not at face value.
i used to think it was CAOS wardrobe department magic, but after P4 i just think it’s shipka and leatherwood bringing out golden age poise and theatricality in each other. that’s just how they vibe as professionals.
