It's wild to me how the fandom opinion on criticism has changed.
I love critiquing media. I'm a writer as a hobby and I love going through a work to see what I think works, what does not, themes, lore, etc. I love a good passionate ramble about how messed up or stupid a show can get and then turn around and discuss how much I love the darn thing.
But nowadays... wow. That seems to be horribly rare for anybody to give anything critique that's not just bad faith or straight up hate for the sake of it.
Hazbin has problems. Most shows do. Is it the worst thing ever, worthy of the kind of ridiculous number of hate videos online? No. People have an idea in their head that the show is "bad" and then have to prove its "bad". It is really not that bad. Heck, I would critique the show about as much as I do Digital Circus.
But everybody and their bad faith criticism only helps to make those who actually want to discuss the show and its themes look worse. I understand people not trusting critics when so many of them claim to have points about the show and then turn around to attack the people who made it.
Can we just... talk about media normally?
