Look. The bottomline there is it was implied that Miss Lily was a danger to Louis.

Being gay was illegal back then. It could've gotten Louis killed if anyone found out. Lily was supposed to be his beard, but instead of keeping his secret, she was out telling Lestat (who thankfully was not a threat to Louis) that she didn't actually have sex with Louis. They only talked. If Lily had told that bit of info to the wrong person, they could've used it as the "proof" against Louis to harm him. That's how it worked back then.

That is likely why Lestat killed Lily. He saw she was a direct danger to Louis, because if Lestat was killing people to isolate Louis, he would've also killed Louis' whole family, but he didn't.

This isn't even touching the fact Lily had been dead for weeks before Louis even realized, which implied Louis did not care about her, unlike his family, which goes back to why Lestat didn't kill them — he knew they were actually important to Louis, unlike Lily.

The fact people don't get this while ignoring that Miss Bricktop was Louis' (and Lestat's) actual friend and confidant who kept their secret(s) is ridiculous at this point, but I suspect it has to do with Miss Bricktop not fitting the image of the popular AU fanon of Lily and Louis being cutesy BFFs.

I think Miss Lily was smart and secretly planning to blackmail Louis. More to her than meets the eye, not the sweet obedient little thing she was pretending to be, very cool character. Similar to Claudia, hiding a lot of rage and pain

lestat having a musical written about his life by elton john which got negative critiques all across the board and only had a 2 month run on broadway before closing is the most lestat thing that could happen to him

My main take away from the new Lestat trailer is that Daniel described Armand as super hot in the book because he looooves him

As a Vampire Chronicles reader .... does anyone actually care about the Talamasca?

In the books none of the main characters care about the Talamasca, so the reader doesn't either.

Whenever a main character does talk to them there is some sexual incentive.

Lestat keeps visiting order member David Talbot only because he has the hots for him and enjoys talking to him.

Marius only cares that the Talamasca keep his pervy painting of Armand in the cellar and not in the main hall and complains about it (This is canon, I am not joking) He corresponds a bit with an order member in 1500 to find out if he knows the whereabouts of his wife who is avoiding him the last few centuries for some reason

Armand doesn't care, Louis doesn't care

Also this is canon, in Blood and Gold hes always crying about how mortals paint better than him even though he can (and does) cheat with his preternatural skills

And in QOTD, he complains to Lestat that it bothers him the Talamasca keep his pervy painting of Armand in the crypt and not in 'some decent place' like the main hall, and Lestat just laughs.

Like his painting skill issue really bothers him and he's preoccupied with it
