Heyo folks, I’m Sage. This is a sideblog to LifeLivedSilly, but unlike LifeLivedSilly, which is geared around our travel vlog as a whole, this blog is my personal lil space to share my favorite parts of the trips, my thoughts and points of view, and some insight on what it’s like to travel and work full time while managing a chronic mental illness. This last part won’t be mentioned often on the channel, but on my personal blog I would like to share my experiences and tools for dealing with mental illness while abroad or even just in every day life because I feel like most mainstream influencers and such don’t show this dimension of normal life. I’ve heard that about 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experience mental illness in a year, and about 1 in 25 struggle with serious mental illness that limits or interferes with daily life. Fortunately or unfortunately, I am part of this roughly 4% of Americans, and I want to share my experiences and tools with anyone and everyone out there who needs or wants help traveling, or even just living, with mild to severe mental illness.
Please note, I am not a trained professional and cannot give medical advice, but I have been through years of treatment (and will continue to be for a long time) and I can share resources I use or know of, and give advice on how to have access to prescriptions abroad, as well as answer any questions you may have about what I do on a day to day basis.
Also note, I struggle with a lifelong mood disorder, so treatment and practices that deal with that are what I am most well versed in, but I will do my best to keep travel advice as broad as possible for the range of people in treatment for whatever reason.
If none of that applies to you, don’t worry, I will also be posting about all the fun day to day travel adventures we go on, so there will be plenty of other content for you to enjoy!
