Serious post about guns

At my school we have to practice sprinting down the hall multiple times to see which way is fastest almost every month. We aren't allowed to wear hoods or hats. We have to learn different sitting positions and constantly go over what to do if a shooter were to be in the building. You know it's bad when LITERAL CHILDREN have to start speaking out about this kind of shit. I'm 13, and everyday when I walk into school I fear for my life. We have a police officer in our building at all times now. That shouldn't have to happen. Places like schools, churches, work places, bars, etc. should feel safe to people. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO FUCKING FEAR FOR MY LIFE EVERYDAY. I AM A CHILD. I SHOULD FEEL SAFE AT SCHOOL.

I SHOULDN'T FEEL LIKE IT'S NORMAL TO SEE THAT A SHOOTING HAPPENED.

GUN RIGHTS SHOULDN'T MATTER AS MUCH AS HUMAN LIVES.

Gen Z kids go to school everyday and see that there was another shooting. Of course they feel bad but other than that they're unfazed. Is that normal? SHOULD that be normal? There have been almost as many shootings this year as there have been days. We are children, do our lives really not matter as much as your precious gun?
