For those who attended the extra lesson on Thursday,
Oh no, it isn’t Hogwarts exclusive by a long way, but Hogwarts was certainly founded on the tenants of separation, wasn’t it? Not much for togetherness, whatever story the ol’ Sorting Hat wants to spin.
Very defeatist, that attitude. You certainly won’t help anyone if you set out thinking you won’t. Better to try and fail then never to try at all, isn’t it? You may end up helping one or two people here and there, you never know. And I’m sure it will make all the difference to whoever is clever enough to listen to what you have to say.
Indeed. Some houses feel that more strongly than others, I'm afraid, even if it has diluted quite a bit over time. The children seem to care much less about only affiliating themselves with their own house than even when I was at school.
I suppose I have always been a bit submissive. [frowns a bit] That's true, yes. Though I suppose the ones I'll want most to be listening will be just as adamant on being stubborn as I am wary of giving advice in the first place.
