I like the photobashing you did on Lampwick, what's your advice or tricks when it comes to working of your oc? At first, I thought it was a 3D model or an existing picture of an actor or a person similar to Lampwick
The actual photobashing is pretty old, I should sincerely remake it hahah. The actor that was used is Domhnall Gleeson, huge fan of his work, he has recently started into the The Office spin off The paper, I recommend it.
For the process, I am very bad at explaining but I hope I can help. I do not have any past screenshots so I guess you will have to try as I explain.
1. The first step is to find an actor you think could reflect how your character looks in real life.
2. Take reference the official black and white renders of the character so you understand where to begin.
3. Make your picture black and white and then begin to find pieces of hair/clothing/beard everything that you think it could suit your character and attach it by cleaning the edges.
4. All the attachments must be done in black and white, and when you are done attaching them, create an Overlay layer ( I think it was Overlay? Just in case try with Multiply too ) and pick the colors of your character by always using as reference the official LOP renders.
5. Et voilà! I think?
Obviously the pieces do not have to come from the actor, looks around modeling and stuff and warp them with told at your disposal. I usually go into a deep research so I have to work less.
Hope it helps!
Oh I bet he felt happy about it
Hi Wild!
I have been looking for tutorials for art improvement and I asked other artists which art tips have helped them to improve.
Such as: using boxes, a cylinder thingy for the face and body, grayscale before adding colors, where the light hits and where the shadow appears, and jewelry. Some tutorials I have seen made it difficult for me to understand. Any advice on which artist or artists I should look for? I'm interested in improving my art even means I have to learn from the start.
I have been following quite while of your work (I think?) been busy with real life stuff but always make sure to have small time to draw a bit.
:)
Oh hey!
My personal art improvement has been based on mostly obsessing the things I like. I have never used the cylinders and boxes method ( even if I should start to explore it ) due to the fact that I find it personally boring even if is meant to actually train your hand and muscular memory about shapes, form and consistency.
When I come up to study I personally go on Line of action and give myself a 30min-1hr study session when I feel like I can test how fast I came to become. I am pretty slow myself so improving speed is always good!
About rendering, the whole black and white deal before coloring is mostly to learn values and make the drawings have a more balanced composition before coloring. I personally and rarely use it with my work due to the fact that I do not find myself really well with that method, I jump straight up to colors so that I can have my idea already in the making by skipping a step that per se is useful but not really necessary for the way I work. Is mostly up to you really. An artist whose I really like the way of rendering is Emilyena on YouTube. Been following for a while and her work process on rendering is really good. I really suggest to watch her videos for more information. Marco Bucci is also another artist I suggest. His videos are more on the professional side and he is more direct in his instructions.
When it comes to accessories I think I am not really of a big help due to the fact is the least good thing I can draw so I also suggest to look to some reference, copy until you understood the foundations and then straight up search for artist that you think are good at it. Copying their work as a study I always suggested especially when kept personally.
Also, I don’t necessarily think someone needs to learn from scratch to improve, usually a lack of improvement in your art means that there are some holes in your knowledge that need to be filled. If you already are good at something with your art I think you should focus on it and try to improve it and slowly move to something else as you learn.
Art is a huge chain, more links attack to each other more they all make sense put together.
Hope this helped a lil :)

About Lies of P…
Hello, I have already mentioned this on my Twitter and I will say this again on my Tumblr since I can have a better way to express my thoughts on this. As you know, Neowiz has been masking and hiding the dust under the rug, about the hiring of someone braindeadly being capable to generate AI pictures for the whole concept art of the game. With this, I do not feel supporting the company, even by making art of the game anymore ( unless there is a turn of events ). I am seriously sick and tired of a company that used to take feedback of their players so dearly to turn against the same artists that made the game great. Not only their usage of generative AI was not mentioned for the DLC — thing that still is not declared on the steam page after a whole year, but the whole ignoring their fans being loud about this thing seems to not make them care. So why should I care? Why do I need to still hold onto a false hope that this backlash will be useful?

And for the ask, what's your favorite Pokémon?
Ooooohh this is a nice question!
I really love Torterra, not only because I started playing Pokémon with gen4 and Turtwig was my first pick, mostly because his whole design seems bland but I think is one of the best well thought out. Their back is literally a landscape!!! You can nap on their back!!! Or even better, on a hot summer day or a rainy day you can seek some freshness and shelter underneath the small tree foliage. They can also be a ride if you get tired of walking in your adventure! I love Torterra!!
Yep, it is them.
