Where’s Waldo? The Yukon! His is actually DAll and he’s a sheep. It’s one of two sheep in the Thinhorn Sheep family. The second is the Stone Sheep. Living in the Yukon makes the sheep species tgat lives tge farthest north in the world. Odd fact: their horns grow very fast in the summer and a ring is created each summer. A Barred Owl skims the top of Blue Cypress Lake in Florida. They have been called many names: Northern Barred Owl, Swamp Owl, Striped Owl, Hoot Owl, Eight Hooter, Round-headed Owl, Le Chat-huant du Nord (French for “the hooting cat of the north”), and Rain Owl. Little Bee-eaters are very pretty and really fun to photograph. It’s fun because the often come back to the same perch after a catch. It’s usually only a few seconds so as soon as they launch I hit the shutter and don’t let up until it comes back or your finger cramps up! Here is a sequence from my last safari. A Northern Mockingbird took offense at the presence of a Harris's Hawk. Perhaps the mockingbird had a nest nearby, it dove at the hawk numerous times. During the attack it made contact several times, but the hawk barely flinched. I shot the moon, well, more specifically tonights Super Pink Moon! The Pink Moon is never actually pink but can have a gold hue on the horizon. The Pink Moon is named because it appears the same time as Pink Phlox begins to bloom. It will be the largest moon of the year and is about 7% bigger than usual. This moon is also the Paschal Moon, and it sets the date for Easter. Easter is the first Sunday after the Paschal Moon.
