Alex faltered when she asked about his work. While he was very aware of his family’s status, the whole notion of living up to the stereotypical living off of his father’s dime because he doesn’t have any viable skills despite outstanding SAT scores and an admittance into Brown University felt… demeaning. He shrugged weakly.
“I’ve been quite ill, so…” He regretted it the moment he said it, realizing that using his illness felt weaker than being born into an outrageously privileged life. “I’m thinking of going into politics like my father but I’d have to move back home to do it.”
âťťReally? Oh, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know.âťž For whatever reason it was that he was ill, and therefore out of work, Mina regretted bringing it up and asking almost immediately. This could be a touchy subject, for all she knew, and then she just came in with her big mouth and started asking about it. ❝Politics? You must be very intelligent then!âťž Though she tried to keep up with it, politics was a bit too intelligent for Mina. Mainly she chose candidates who she agreed with most, but didn’t really get into it like some people did.Â
❝If you were a politician, and became President, I’d vote for you.❞ The brunette smiled, though curiosity hit her, and she failed to make it subside, ❝Why go back home though? Could you not just become the representative for California from San Francisco?❞ Unsurprisingly, she may have seriously messed that up; it did go over her head.
