i see so many things that equate tilda to mary when it comes to andrew’s opinions of them. as in, bc he hates tilda, andrew also hates mary. and it’s not that i think andrew doesn’t hate mary, but i don’t think the logic behind that hatred is actually that comparable. in fact, i think andrew tries not to think about mary hatford whenever possible.

i think aaron and neil’s feelings towards their respective mothers is somewhat comparable (and even that is pretty nuanced), but i think andrew’s hatred of tilda is a lot more straightforward than his hatred of mary. bc at some point he’d have to come to terms with the rather obvious fact that the one of the people he loves (hates) the most in the world is alive bc the worst thing that ever happened to him happened to mary hatford. andrew is a very black and white thinker and mary is a person he can't exactly fit into one or the other the same way he can with people he doesn't have similar experiences to.

andrew values consent and condemns abuse, but is willing to inflict harmful and abusive acts on others if it means he can protect the people he wants to. that is exactly what mary did to neil. and i think the nuances and differences can be discussed and debated, but i don't think andrew would consider that. bc, as mentioned, he is a very black and white thinker.

andrew hates tilda the way he hates luthor, and riko, and most of the other abusive characters we are introduced to in the series. andrew hates mary hatford the way he hates himself and i don't think that's something he wants to admit, even within his own mind.

I just loooveee when professors says that they will not let anyone in for the next lecture, unless they will read 💃chapter X of book Y💃 and then you look for the book and it's nowhere online for free and the price is horrendously high (because not only the book is not published in your country, it's also an academic text so it's naturally more expensive) and then the said professor writes a reminder to read that book BUT THE BOOK IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND

kevin day, at 38 years old, is the oldest player on the us court, back to win a gold medal. comms never let the audience forget it, they're always saying "here comes 38 yo kevin day, oldest man here for exy", "and even at 38 yo, day still has it!", etc. media's always asking him about his career, and he finally gives in and tells them: "this will be my last olympics with the us court."

fans from all over gather to watch every us game, even if they're rooting for another country. this is kevin day's last time playing with the us court. no more gold medals after this one. his retirement from the nel is likely coming soon too. he's already the oldest player there, even if he's still producing. they watch, and the gold medal game for exy is the most watched event of the entire olympics - 35 million people coming together to watch kevin day's final stand. and he takes home the gold with the us one last time, because of course he does.

four years later, exy fans are preparing for their first olympics without kevin day in 20 years or so, and then there's a press release that shocks them all. kevin day is going to play at the olympics... for ireland. he claims that will be his "final olympics. period", but he's doing his last one with ireland. his birth country. something he's doing for his mother. and his younger self.

he takes to the court in those colours for the first time and all of the exy world is emotional. kevin day, wearing the same colours his mother used to play with. kevin day, who's known for the number 2 on his back, changing his number this once so that it's the same one his mom wore. photos comparing them go viral, and kevin saves every single one. he plays every game for her, a quiet dedication before he steps on to the court. and when he wins gold, he dedicates that to her too.

kayleigh day might've never won an olympic gold with ireland, but there is one day out there who did.

Alright, hi!! heyyy! hello!! Not gonna lie, I really like all of the illustrations I did in this update (maybe except the chin holding, I could do better yk). Ever since I first read that ff, I thought that it could look really cool as a movie or like episode series -- with all the cool lighting and beautiful shots, so I am trying to achieve some level of cinematic feeling in my illustrations. It's not easy, because 1 -- most of them will be vertical rather than horizontal, 2 -- idk man, it's kinda hard lmaoo

To achieve that I am really trying to play with colors, lighting and composition. I think results so far are good, but maybe I shouldn't be a judge here -- I'll probably won't like it that much next month, so let me glaze it for now ahahahah

Anyways, my favorite is the one with cigarettes in ch8, because of the composition and background, but damnn... I had so much fun drawing Dan and I need to draw her more!!
