“Helcaraxë” (watercolour, 2026)
Another of six new artworks I’m currently working on for a book about the history of the Elves to be published by Legendaria Ediciones. Thought a bit of ice might be appreciated in this infernal heat ...
early days in the havens
Based on the scene from rotk (book) where sam gives frodo his cloak🫡
I don’t think about Morgoth as much as I should but it’s bugging me that for much of the First Age his crown has only two Silmarils in it (after Beren steals one).
So from that point onward one of the three settings stands empty and he absolutely HATES how tacky it looks, and no one sensible dares say anything about it?? Oh and he can’t even get it remade because he canonically REFUSES to take off the Iron Crown—
And imagine he tries replacing it with some lesser stone and it just looks worse somehow because of course next to the Silmarils every jewel looks like it’s on clearance from Claire’s and Gothmog or someone unwisely tries to be nice like, “my lord, the diamond looks very—” before getting yeeted out the hall with extreme prejudice
Sauron’s like “that FOOL thought to mention the asymmetric headgear”
this got me thinking and. behold the cursed concept this post spawned unto my brain: the iron crown with the missing silmaril replaced by maedhros' hand
beleriand is sinking, our age of first is collapsing
goldberry and tombom
Something about the wars of beleriand or so
the swan-maiden and the swan-ships
read something about how swans, being gigantic and heavy as far as birds go, often fight by bludgeoning stuff with their wings, and it gave me the idea for earwen wielding a mace
Thinking about how Eöl straight up became a missing person due to being killed in Gondolin.
None of his servants/others who live in Nam Emloth know what happened to their lord, none of his dwarf contacts and fellow smiths will hear from him every again, Thingol’s kinsman (whom he treasures dearly due to being kin) is just gone and likely none of them will ever learn what happened to their friend until they die. (Because Eöl did have companions and connections and people who will miss him despite his horrible attitude)
I’m just thinking about the different ways Aredhel+Eöl+Maeglin can be portrayed in legends after their deaths. (Animal-wife Aredhel for those who know her or the servants who pitied her/blamed her for Eöl’s disappearance, Eöl as a spirit forever searching for his lost ones (or more accurately and in different versions, lost things), Maeglin who is many things—traitorous tricker spirit, a man driven mad by power, a Jeckel and Hyde)
The Nam Emloth family makes me want to bite something.
warmup that became a maedhros
taskmaster with feanor as a contestant and all the prize tasks are designed with the thinly veiled intent to make him give up the silmarils
They r so important to me i hope you understand. Includes characters from all the histories, not just the silm but. Mostly silm stuff. If yo
From the creator of the infamous Sauron Uquiz, finally another Silm quiz at long last!!!!! And it's more and and not less in depth than the last one... There are 18 result options and all of them comes with their own, uhh. Soliloquy if you will. Feel free to post ur results or tag chains!! Forgive me for tagging every single one of them lol but I know content of some of these charas is desperately lacking. I may post the result screenshots later
trying a new art style

one of my favourite ideas about elves and the valar is the different perception of time and the miscommunications that follow
The Valar: Finwë has been slain. We should take a moment to think about what we should do, so we don't make any hasty decisions
The Elves: so it's been multiple months since one of us was killed in the place where we were supposedly safe from harm and the Valar are just not going to do anything about it
The Valar: oh, the Noldor are going to Beleriand. This is a stupid idea, but since we can't stop them we're going to let them do their thing for a bit and then we'll come rescue them
The Elves: it has been literal ages that we've been fighting a hopeless fight. I am the great-great grandchild of the Elves that decided to come here, yet I am still being punished for my ancestors' mistake. Our gods have abandoned us.
The Valar: what do we do with elves that misbehaved during their lifetime? Oh I know, we'll give them time out in mandos, maybe they'll think about their actions. And they also have time to heal!
The Elves: I have been cursed to spend eternity in hell

Easy hahaha! Círdan and Elwing, a super recent WIP :)
