「 I wrote a small something between Merevylnn and Halsien, I’m not sure if it’ll continue, or if it’ll just stop here, but here, have a read if you like! 」
Rain trickled down the cool, rustling leaves like slippery glass pebbles. The skies were obscured by persistent clouds that clung directly near the sun.
Quick footsteps hurried through the grassy dirt as Merevylnn's gray hues caught glimpse of something ahead.
She grasped onto her staff as she ran, not stopping even for a second to look back.
The female mage was certain. It had to be. There was absolutely no mistaking it.
Merevylnn had called out through the loudly pattering skies.
Halsien glances up from his book, pages now bothered by wet rain, and he watches the precipitation fall down momentarily.
That's a voice I haven't heard in a long while...
He shuts the book, standing up from his spot under the dewy tree
As if hearing her voice out of nowhere was surprising enough, he hadn't imagined that she would be standing there right before him.
The winged figure had looked over, just as she had hoped.
But now, she was lost on what to say.
She subtly fiddled with the bow on her shirt before giving a brief wave.
"...Hi. It uh, it looks like you still remember me, huh..."
"Yeah, I still remember you. Did you think otherwise?"
Frankly speaking, even if the ice/lightning-mage had wanted to forget, it would be impossible.
Though he had not dwelled so much on her words, there was something different about her expression which outright drew his curiosity— but he decided to leave that for later.
Merevylnn was not carrying an umbrella, nor had she worn any sort of remotely warm clothing.
"Did you run all this way? You should probably head inside."
A cheeky smile grew onto her lips.
"Oh yeah? What about you, Mr. Bookworm~? Don't you know you're standing out here about to be all drenched as well?" she teased.
Merevylnn combed a hand through her damp fringe and pushed it aside.
"Don't tell me you're just going to continue reading here!"
The girl had carried an ever-so-familiar tone of bouncy defiance as she always had, but Halsien still remained uncertain. What was it that she wanted, exactly, for her to run out all the way over here?
"Well, I don't plan on leaving yet. I'm still observing something," he eventually stated, although it wasn't quite true.
"If you're concerned about the rain, it's best to get going."
What was this... coldness?
Despite the rain, the weather would surely not be considered chilly, yet... it felt as if a cold breeze had just swept by as she stood there, with no intent to stop its linear flow, seeming to yield no path for anything else to pass through
with no intent on making way for her.
Just moments ago, she had found herself sprinting across towards something, with a fiery persistence and maybe even hope— yet— now... what exactly had doused its ignition?
