I buy a vintage doll: vintage means older than 20 years, so anything 2005 or before.
I buy a Barbie doll: self-explanatory. I own no Barbie dolls. I bought a Barbie Looks #22 to make into a custom.
A new quality doll line releases: a brand new doll brand comes out with high quality clothes, articulation, sculpts, and/or concept.
New Begoth(s): As the Kickstarter lists the new dolls as shipping roughly September 2026 if successful, I'll count this square if the Kickstarter succeeds and we see multiple progress updates throughout the rest of 2025. If non-doll backer rewards are sent out this year, that helps.
An old line returns (repro or reboot): a discontinued doll line returns with either reproductions (a la MH Creeproductions) or a reboot (a la Always Bratz). Must be new in 2025, so Loyal Subjects repros and new Bratz don't count).
Shadow High Returns: Rainbow High releases a new line explicitly labeled as Shadow High.
Zombaes Forever rises from the dead: Spin Master's Zombaes Forever releases a new line. A hail mary, basically no chance of this happening.
New space/alien themed line: A new doll brand releases with a space or alien theme. A single doll in a line having an alien theme (Zooey Electra in SH series 2, for example) doesn't count.
Welcome Committee Frankie is released: self-explanatory. Give us the best Frankie, cowards. WC Frankie finally became available for purchase on Amazon on May 28th, 2025!
Holiday Barbie wears a green dress: in 35 years of Holiday dolls, only 5-ish have been green. I want a green dress.
Rainbow High is canceled: self-explanatory. A rebrand fully ditching the name Rainbow High for Rainbow World does not count.
I buy or make a custom doll: self-explanatory. Rerooting and/or repainting a face.
Fang Vote doll is mid: self-explanatory. Rochelle was a miss, Jinafire was a hit, we're due this year for one that's just mid. I'm counting Fang Vote Catty Noir as mid. She's cute, but her design is basic and not worth the inflated Fang Vote price tag.
ily 4ever makes a good male doll: a 12-inch ily 4ever male doll that I buy or seriously consider buying releases. There have only been a couple male dolls total and all of them are extremely underwhelming.
LUV dolls are cancelled: LUV dolls from Far Out Toys does not continue. I will consider no news for the whole year as a quiet cancellation.
Somebody buys me a doll: self-explanatory. Bonus points if I don't have to send them the product page and tell them to buy it for me.
MH g3 in its golden age: Monster High g3 continues to have an output of, on average, very good dolls. I consider the G3 golden age to have started around the time of Monster Ball and to be still continuing, with the quality and designs only getting better.
MH G3 collector doll: Monster High releases a doll in the G3 style/canon at a collector level. I consider FanSea Lagoona to currently be the only G3 collector doll, as she is the only G3 doll to release with a stand, at a mid-level collector price. Fang Vote Catty is G3 Catty!
Disney Holiday doll is not an official princess: the Disney Store holiday doll line has been going for 5 years, starting with Ariel, then Rapunzel, Tinkerbell, Tiana, and Belle last year. Unofficial Disney princesses are characters like Tinkerbell, Mirabel, Alice, Megara, Esmerelda, etc.
FNAF Skullector doll: Monster High releases a Skullector doll through Mattel Creations based on the video game series Five Nights at Freddy's.
Pixlings remain the best: Magic Mixies Pixlings from Moose Toys continues to put out good quality, high concept dolls. Pixie Supremes can be in consideration, but they don't really count.
A promising new line is cancelled: a recently released doll line that shows potential only gets one or two releases before being cancelled. Examples from previous years include lines like Stye Bae, SnapStars, or FailFix.
A recent line unexpectedly gets a new release: the opposite of the previous square. A recently released doll line that appears to be cancelled puts out a new release.
I make an amazing thrift find: I find a doll for sale secondhand that is very rare, and/or is going for a great price. Thrift stores, vintage toy stores, and antique stores all count. eBay can count if the find is exceptional.
