ok so. to be able to talk about their dynamics, we need to talk about them individually first, but mostly into their love langs. and this will most likely be a long one so i will just. add a read more here
for jeonghan, i’ve answered a couple of asks today about him which you most likely saw. you can check them, but this one is the “main” ask that focus on his love lang. in general lines, again, jeonghan’s love lang has to do with adapting to others. to being prob one of the most observant people i have ever seen and using that to develop his dynamics. when it comes to how i perceive his personality in general, it kinda goes with this observant line + him being very fucking private. we do have glimpses of how he is if you’re able to separate his dynamics from him alone. @bbugyu also just answered an ask about his mbti and him in general here so it’s also worth the read. generally speaking, he is observant, flexible, a planner. not necessarily introverted by the definition we’re used to as he can be extroverted as well. but for this jeongcheol thingy, i’ll focus mostly on his love lang which i will not get too deep into once again bc i seriously need to stop talking about this and how he adapts to others.
when it comes to cheol, it’s kinda like mingyu. what you see is what you get. there’s not this crazy built idol persona like jeonghan. and we also need to talk about him being the leader. this curiouscat by my meta queen hwa talks a bit about how the way cheol was raised influences on his leadership style + his personality. bc if we look at it, when we think of a kpop leader, cheol’s style is not the first thing that comes to mind. i think he’s more of idk an impulsive force? than those lead by example style. he is a leader but he sometimes acts like a fucking maknae. he mentioned i think in htr? that he gains strength from others. he is full of aegyo and he is spoiled. actually his htr is a great glimpse of who i think cheol is. his heart is literally ginormous and it shows. but i feel like being a leader sometimes is hard to manage with all this emotional + somewhat childish side he has.
and this is where fucking yoon jeonghan and his fucking absurd and immaculate love lang comes.
jeonghan sees that. and he acts on it. and i don’t think the role he plays for cheol has a lot to do with him being the second oldest. it’s more about how he adapts to others. as he’s an observant creature, he clearly sees where cheol lacks. and he’s also a very good mediator by nature (telling booseok to stop arguing and take a selca like hello????). jeonghan clearly helps cheol with leading svt. and he doesn’t do it to idk steal cheol’s spot or for the spotlight. like pretty much everything we see from him, it’s about others. i seriously believe jeonghan is kinda like the glue that keeps seventeen together. i love seungcheol to death and i’m literally him, but i think that he would be somewhat lost without jeonghan. seungcheol has too many emotions and jeonghan doesn’t show his (which is a fucking problem !), so i think this makes cheol comfortable enough to share some of the leadership burdens with jeonghan. seungcheol said on htr he had to learn how to lead and i’m a firm believer that jeonghan played a big part in his learning process for that. he is the youngest at home and insanely spoiled and then suddenly boom he has to lead 12 people??? and i think this is most likely hard to do when you’re someone as heart driven as him. also i think we might downplay what leadership means in these groups. it’s a big thing.
i also think that this emotional + maknae side of seungcheol + the fact that he has 11 dongsaengs is part of why jeonghan doesn’t show that much vulnerability in public/cameras. i think he has this sense like he literally can’t afford to do that??? i think seungcheol grew into an amazing leader and i admire who he is a lot. i see myself in him a lot. and it’s really beautiful to see the part jeonghan played in that.
like jeongcheol is a very very sensitive topic for me because it shows so much growth and it’s probably one of the prettiest representations of jeonghan’s empathetic love lang. it makes me sensitive !! can’t deal !!

also don’t take this as a diss on cheol because it isn’t? is just about how jeonghan literally shaped into his needs to help him lead seventeen from behind the scenes hehe
I think Joe hasn't had reason to lie to Nicky very often. He's oblivious to how bad he is at it.
Nicky, I'm sure, knows that Joe was going to find it the hardest to cut off Booker, and also knows how giant Joe's heart is, but also hopes that Joe would understand how utterly crushed he was by Booker's betrayal and weigh that in the balance. No wonder he's so mad he has to dash away a tear.

I don't think Joe's bad at lying I think he's just bad at lying to Nicky because he's literally just never tried. 900 years and Joe's like whew ok here I go gonna lie to Nicky, he caught me the last time I tried 4 centuries ago but this one will get him, third times the charm,
Oh my GOD saw Sinners again… everybody trying to take Sammie’s voice (Remmick wanting to take it and use it for himself, his father telling him to give his voice to God, even Smoke telling him to give up the blues for his own good). But in the end his voice belongs to HIM!! it’s HIS gift it’s HIS power and he holds onto it and builds a life for himself with his music!!! my personal pick for most underrated animal is the european legless lizard, which i think is often taken to just look like a normal and rather plain snake, but if you're familiar with reptile anatomy at all it looks more like some sort of bizarre heraldic fantasy creature than basically anything else on earth
it's called the lateral groove and is literally a sort of seam in it's body that's always present:
I /think/ what's going on is that these evolved from something like alligator lizards, which have very rigid, slippery underbellies next to soft, stretchy skin on their sides (where their legs are situated), but now that they've evolved to be a "snake" and don't have legs that need to move around, that soft skin has decreased and turned into a weird little seam so they can slither easier and don't have a big weak point in their sides. it's compensation to have nice smooth scales all over like a snake would, imperfectly using the lizard anatomy they're working with
