These boudoir photos of Lilith Vatore taken by an unknown photographer in the late 1910s were discovered in a hat box belonging to Prudence Crumplebottom (now preserved in the University of Britechester's historical archives). Also recovered from the box were a lock of raven hair (presumably Vatore's) and a bundle of suggestive correspondence, ending shortly before Vatore's unexplained disappearance in March 1918. The two appeared to be best friends in public but may have been even more in private. Such photos would have been exchanged clandestinely and fiercely guarded from prying eyes.
