NOTABLE CHANGES FROM 2012 TO THE TIMELINE THEY WERE PULLED FROM: Garth was adopted by Arthur when he was ten years old! He taught him how to speak and write English since all he knew how to speak was Atlantean. He has two large scars that curve down and across one of his purple eyes. He also has tattoo like markings that wrap around his arms from his shoulders, extending all the way down to his wrists and some of his fingers. These are always visible. Garth was the UN Ambassador for Atlantis back in his own universe. He’s also an active magic user and is considered to be homo magi.
LAST MEMORY BEFORE ENDING UP IN NYC, 2012: Returning home from cleaning up the ocean floor of bottles and other plastics.

questionnaire —
How are you feeling? Physically and mentally.
“It feels strange calling the surface home but otherwise I feel fine.”
Where are you living? The same place you lived in 2012, or displaced to a random apartment? Explain to the best of your ability.
“I’m living with my father. It makes me very happy knowing that he’s down the hall. Call me sentimental but it’s nice having the family all together.”
What do YOU think we should do about the situation at hand? Try to go back home? The original mission of stopping Thanos? Rewrite the entire story?
“My main priority will be finding a way for my family to return home. However, I’ve never been the type of person who stands aside and won’t help someone that’s in need. I’ll help stop this Thanos. I’ve stopped powerful tyrants before on my own so if you think I’m afraid then you’re mistaken.”
What will you DO about the situation at hand?
“I’ll do whatever it takes. I’m capable of powerful magic so don’t let my kind nature think you can underestimate my usefulness.”
Is there anything that you think needs to be done?
“It’s important to have those tough conversations so we can set our differences aside. It’s the only way we’ll be able to successfully team up when the fight comes to us.”
If need be, would you be willing to team up with the government and SHIELD to recoup and help the situation at hand?
“I don’t trust the government to make decisions to benefit their planet. I was an ambassador for Atlantis for the United Nations back in my own world. I have more experience than most with working with the government since I regularly met with other ambassadors for a variety of reasons. I have tried many times to get them to see the errors of their ways but they don’t listen to my suggestions on protecting the environment. They continue to poison our oceans and their own ecosystems. If we can’t get everyone to agree on finding a solution for pollution then how can we rely on them to handle a situation this important? I’ll work with them if I must but that doesn’t mean I’ll be trusting them just yet. It has to be earned but I think convening and working together to do some good here. I have learned that having a voice for your people in the room is important.”
What are your worries?
“Never getting to see Atlantis again. I miss my home.”
What do you think are the pros about this situation?
“Cerdian is here with me. It brings me comfort that I can continue keeping my son safe and he isn’t alone.”
Anything else?
“If you need anything from me then you’ll know where to find me.”
Humans definitely did some strange things, but Lucifer was always amused by watching them. In a way, it was a lot like watching animals cavort, so it was very appropriate that he was currently watching a child running after some squirrels. It was entertaining to watch, but he was not all that keen on having the child in his vicinity. So when he came near, Lucifer recoiled a bit, and when the offspring’s apparent owner came over to apologize, he was suitably indignant. “Yes, I would say you should be! You’re supposed to keep your pets in line here, so that should apply to offspring too!”
//
The comment makes him angry, an emotion that’s so rarely felt due to his calm nature. He has witnessed cruelty on the surface but it always surprises him. He tries his best to always live with faith that their two worlds can unite someday. However, when something like this happens it only makes him realize how far that goal is from his grasp. Luckily Garth is the type of man who would prefer talking before throwing a fist. “Why come to the park if you don’t want to see children playing?” He doesn’t understand the logic in the decision, raising an eyebrow while looking over at the other with a serious expression. However his vibrant purple eyes glow the more he thinks about this man calling his child a pet. The prince takes a few deep breaths and it stops. He can respect people who don’t want any of their own but that’s just cruel. “You have my deepest apologies but I won’t stand here and let you call my son a pet.”
( @windwavc ) “ ugh ” the atlantean begins, reaching down to finally pick up the last piece of trash on the beach. well, in this area that is, she doesn’t even want to think about what’s happening further down. “ humans are always so careless with their trash, it’s not hard to throw away. ” she grumbles ( in atlantean ) to herself, tying the bag closed with a huff. turns to walk back up the beach to properly dispose of it but stops at the sight of the person in front of her. he looks familiar, and a feeling in her gut is telling her she should know who they are, but she can’t seem to remember. “ do i know you? ” words are accidentally blunt. “ you look familiar. ”
It seems like Garth isn’t the only one who comes to the beach with the intention of cleaning up. He lives nearby with some of his family so it’s a short walk down to the more public areas. He was always advocating for more clean up efforts, anything that would make a difference for the planet. He has witnessed how the pollution impacts the marine life and his own people too. Their home slowly being destroyed and creatures making homes out of trash found on the ocean floor. It just upsets him and tries his best to make humans see what they’re doing. Their actions will only harm them as well in the long run. He hears someone grumbling in Atlantean but can’t make out all of the words. “I’ve been trying for years to tell him to throw away their garbage. Humans don’t like to listen to others.” He responds back in the language native to his home. It feels good having someone else that understands it. However, the stranger seems to know him. “I’m Garth Curry. It’s nice to meet you. Does the name ring any bells?”
One minute, Andrina Curry was at her front door, preparing to let herself inside, mentally preparing for the phone call with her parents after a long day, and the next she was in New York, except, not her New York. Everything seemed out of place, things she knew had been worn by time looked fresh and new, and between the clothing and the technology of everyone around it, something was very wrong. She was still in the process of trying to figure it out, walking through Central Park, at least that seemed more or less the same, when a familiar voice pulled her attention. When she found the source, it only added to the confusion, especially as the man who looked like her brother from years before apologized for the little boys behavior. He looked too much like her brother not to be. “Garth?” If that was Garth, then that meant… The atlantean found her gaze looking down at the little boy in his arms. “Is that Cerdian?” What the fuck was going on here?
This is rather unexpected but Garth has met many people due to his ambassador title for Atlantis. He has been seen on televised newscasts over the years . . . so it doesn’t really surprise him that someone might know his name. However, it’s the fact the stranger knows his son that raises alarms. He’s cautious but there’s something about the tone of her voice that makes him stay calm despite the confusion in both of their facial expressions. “My name is Garth Curry, that would be correct. Many also know me as Tempest.” Something is so familiar about the other. They must be from the same universe at least . . . but beyond that? He doesn’t understand what’s going on just yet. He would remember someone that has met his son.. The prince remembers when everything made sense but decides to keep an open mind. Which is his specialty, alway the level-headed one in the family. He’s an expert in deescalating situations and seeing every side. “Have we met? How do you know my boy? Are you a friend of my mother or father?” The last question asked in his native Atlantean tongue to see if his assumption is correct or not.
she couldn’t help but let out a light laugh at the sight before her . it’s cute ! or maybe it’s just cuter because cerdian is a toddler exploring the surface world . “ oh it’s fine , ” tula shakes her head , letting her ponytail sway back and forth . “ you know i’m starting to wonder just how big this family is . ” at this point , she’s lost count !#justaquafamthings . “ and how many of us are here . but it’s good to see you garth ! ”
There was a time when even Garth didn’t know anything about the surface world but accompanying his father helped introduce him to all the various wonders! He needed to warm up to anything new back then due to being a shy child. Although it seems that his son is quite the opposite. “The family has grown a lot over the years. I think it’s nice.” He doesn’t have to worry about being alone anymore. The memories of being abandoned in the open ocean haunt him some nights still. “It’s good to see you, Tula. Trust me that it’s always better to have us all together than the alternative.”
it’s not often that arthur finds himself in central park, often times avoiding the busy tourist spot mainly due to the sheer annoyance he feels whenever he’s there. but for some reason he felt compelled to visit the popular tourist attraction, unsure as to why but he’s learned overtime to always trust his instincts. and it only proves itself right once again as he turns the corner, eyes settling on a familiar figure. ceridians words can’t help but make the atlantean laugh, overjoyed to see both his son and his grandson. “ just wait till he gets to go to the zoo, he’d have a field day with all of those weird fish. ” words are humorous as he approaches them. he’d been trying to remain level headed without his family present so to see them here took an immense relief off his shoulders. “ he could never disturb my evening, neither of you could. it’s good to see you, garth. ”
Suddenly it seems that the squirrels don’t matter anymore to the three-year-old who decided that seeing his grandfather is more important than any of the strange animals. The little feet are running across the grass, trying to get there fast as he can! Although he trips along the way but gets right back up to keep on going. “Grampa!” The little voice shouts while finally reaching Arthur and reaching up to signal his desire to be picked up. Garth smiles fondly while watching Cerdian get excited, not too far behind while approaching them. It bring some relief knowing that at least they’ve found each other in these strange circumstances. “We should take him to the zoo together. We can make a day out of it with the family.” He suggests while finally stopping in front of his father. Garth smiles and for the first time since arriving . . . he feels as if everything will be okay. “It’s good to see you too, dad. I’ve really missed you.” The ache of wishing that they could be in Atlantis grows with each passing day.
Although the situation they found themselves in was confusing and slightly unnerving when she thought about it, Tora Olafsdotter refused to allow it to take her joy from her. Life was too short to dwell only on the darkest parts, and if anyone was aware of that, it was her. So, amongst the chaos, she found happiness in the simplest of moments, such as enjoying a lovely day in Central Park, watching a young child chase after the squirrels with infectious giggles spilling from his lips. There was something so innocent and pure in the laughter of a child, and no matter how bad things may seem in the moment, it was enough to ground her. So whenever someone began to apologize for the actions of the toddler, Ice quickly shook her head. “No need to apologize, he is too adorable to be any sort of problem.” A bright smile on her lips as she looks at the toddler in his arms before glancing back up at him. “Is he yours?”
It makes him happy to know that there’s still good people out there in the world. Garth is alway discovering something new about the surface and firmly believe that there’s still good here. He knew it had to be true, having seen that there’s still kindness out there among all of the bad. Central Park is one of those places that the Atlantean hasn’t spent much time in before but now that his family is living in this city that can all change now going forward. The laughter quiets down but the more Cerdian tries to stop himself from it just becomes louder. He ruffles the toddler’s hair before placing him back down, letting him run circles around the two adults to tire himself out. “Oh definitely mine.” He smiles at the other. “I’m Garth Curry and the little one running around here is Cerdian. It’s nice to meet you.”
jon was walking around the park, trying to clear his head. nature was one thing that could always help him wind down, and while central park wasn’t exactly an open field, it was the greenest thing he could find in the sea of concrete that was new york. he kicked the ground with a little bit more force that he intended to, a nervous habit he developed back when he used to live in the farm, lifting a cloud of dirt around him. shoot. everyone was staring at him now. he was about to apologize to a couple of nannies and parents that were shooting him dirty looks, but before he could give them a sheepish smile and mutter a “sorry”, his super hearing picked up a familiar voice. was that - tempest? he activated his super vision, spotting a little kid next to the familiar boy. “temp- garth! garth!” he shouted, running towards the pair. he was delighted to see a familiar face, and maybe garth had figured out why they were sent here. “is that baby cerdian? he looks so big!” he asked, ruffling the boy’s hair. he had only seen the kid a couple of times, back when he was a tiny little thing he was too scared to carry.
There’s no better place to clear your head than somewhere among nature. While Garth always finds comfort in the deeper areas of the ocean or any body of water . . . these parks have been proving to be very relaxing too! If they were going to be calling this world home then getting used to it would do the Curry family some good. Often the prince came to the surface for two reasons — going on missions with his friends or for meetings since he was the ambassador for Atlantis. It’s safe to say that Garth misses the way things used to be and his true home. It’s weird being away from it for so long. The sound of someone calling out his name is a surprise. Other than his family, Garth didn’t know that someone else in his life had made it to this timeline. The universe continues surprising him in different ways. Some of the other civilians are looking at them but the Atlantean doesn’t pay it any mind. “Hello there, Jon! How long have you been here? I’m so excited to see you!” Should he be concerned about that in any way? “This is Cerdian. Always growing bigger with each day.” He can hardly believe it most days. The prince is smiling at the other, trying his best to always be genuine and humble. It helps having another familiar face from his own universe walking among him. “It brings me comfort knowing you’re around. This whole situation is odd, don’t you think?” Garth just wants to know why.
Pepper hadn’t realize how intently she had been watching the child until his father spoke to her. “Oh, no not at all.” Pepper gives him a small smile. If anything he’s made her long for her own child, a child she can no longer see or hold. She’s jealous, truly. She misses Morgan more than she’s ever missed anyone in her life. There’s a hole in her heart and an ache in her bones that refuses to leave. “He’s quite cute actually, made my evening if I’m honest. - What’s his name?”
It’s a relief that his son didn’t seem to bother the stranger at all. This makes his shoulders relax, all of his worries begin dripping away like water droplets off his skin after emerging from the ocean. He has a lot of experience with visiting the surface but it continues to surprise him even after all of these years. The three-year-old eventually settles in his arms so Garth decides to take a seat on the empty side of the bench, placing the boy in his lap, waving at the woman. “Thank you! His name is Cerdian and I’m Garth. It’s a pleasure to meet you . . . we aren’t from around here, so there’s been a fascination with all the different woodland animals.”
kids . she’s not the biggest fan of them , except they seem to not care about how DARK the aura she gives out and how much of a not good person she is . ‘ it’s sticky finger’s are on me . ’ the words are deadpanned , dark eyes seeing the child CLING to her , slight frown upon her lips . ‘ why is he touching me ? ’ forget the weird fish and squirrels , the kid had seemed to taken attention to her .
“Sticky?” The word confuse Garth at first, since he knew for a fact that there was no way anything could be coating his son’s fingers to give him the ability to stick. No matter, his shoulders tense as the stranger calls Cerdian an it but at least her next statement is corrected. “He has never been to the surface before so he’s just curious about well . . . everything. I’m very sorry, ma’am.” Garth picks the three-year old up and gently pulls him away from the other. He kneels down in front of him for a moment. “You can’t go around touching strangers. You should never talk to someone that you don’t know and we should always respect other people’s personal space, okay? Apologize to the woman.” He stands up, ruffling the kid’s hair for a moment who looks at her while finally speaking up again. “I’m sorry!”
she situates herself on one of the benches and takes a sip of her tea . after everything that’s happened , it’s nice to finally be able to relax . even if she knows it’ll be short-lived . she can’t help but smile at the sight of garth and his son . his giggles are enough to brighten the mood . “ it’s fine , ” zatanna dismisses it with a wave of her hand . “ looks like he’s having a lot of fun so i think that’s all that matters , garth . ”
Often Garth wonders what it must be like to be so carefree at such a young age. Many of the first years of his life were absent of contact with other people due to superstitions keeping them afraid until they learned to trust him. It wasn’t an issue anymore after being adopted into the royal family. However, as a result of his upbringing, the prince tries to give Cerdian everything that was out of reach at his age. There’s no shortage of love in this family, that’s for sure. The three-year-old is wiggling in Garth’s arms but eventually settles down enough to be placed back down on the grass. “I don’t know where he gets all the energy from. I wish I had even fraction of it.” He moves to sit down on the bench next to his friend. “How are you, Zee? I’m glad we have a chance to catch up.”
“Hey! Please stop chasing the squirrels.” Garth thought bringing his son to the park would be a fun experience. The last time he brought Cerdian to the surface he was only an infant but now it’s a couple of months after his third birthday and the toddler is determined to befriend every woodland creature that his eyes come across. Today? It just so happens to be squirrels more than anything else. There’s giggles filling the atmosphere and Garth is picking him up off the grass. “Weird fish!” Which makes some laughter of his own leave his lips. He does start to realize that Cerdian has caused a ruckus around this part of Central Park though, which prompts him to apologize. “I’m sorry if he disturbed your evening. He’s never seen them before and got excited.”
( @rewrittenstart ) There’s a lingering sense of wrongness in Dolphin’s entire being, but being above water tends to that to her. She hasn’t spent much time in the human world, preferring to stay below water as much as physically possible. “I’m sorry, do you know where the……” She trails off, forgetting the word. English is hard as she usually talks to fish. “Fish museum?”
How unnatural being on the surface feels. Garth has been coming here since he was just a little boy, hiding behind his father due to his shy behavior in those early years. His physiology prefers being underwater but after being unable to find his Atlantis on his first day here? Garth has felt lost but since his three-year-old son has been attached to his hip since their arrival, he has no time to show his worries. However, Cerdian spots Dolphin first, tugging on his father’s shirt to try pulling him down the street in a hurry. “I promise that I’m following you. What do you see?” He asks softly, staying cautious since this world is full of so much that’s unknown, but when they’re close enough the little feet are sprinting toward the familiar face. “Mama! Me go too!” Little hands reaching up toward her while Garth approaches too. “Dolphin? My love, no amount of words could convey how much I’ve missed you.”
