In season one Skye couldn’t understand Ward. But he know one day she would.

It was always there;

Coulson to Ward: is it the girl? is she getting under your skin?

Skye: there was something about him

They’ve been hinting us from the start. She told him she’ll never understand but in season 2, she went through the same thing, she herself realized how easy it can be to be taken in by some parental figure and not see straight.

And she knew that it wasn’t an act or a lie. He told her that he would never lie to her and she believed him. Skye:It wasn’t an act. For some reason Ward never lied to me. After all of the times she questioned him in the vault asking him if it was an all an act, if his story was even true about his brother and now she doesn’t doubt it for a second. ‘He just hid parts of himself that I wasn’t ready to see yet’. When you grow up the way we did, you learn to see the world through a very specific lens, and Ward got that’ After all this time, she finally understand him. She knows why he does what he does. Because Skye knows now how easy it is to go down a destructive path and she knows how lucky she is that she had people like Coulson and shield to stop her from going down that path.

But most importantly, its the tone of her voice. The way she talks about him. No more is their loathing in her voice, no more does she say his name with pure anger, she sympathizes with and even Coulson noticed that. This is such a huge step forward because once upon a time Skye could take the shot at him because all she had towards him was pure rage but now can she really take the shot? No way. She knows that that could have been her.

‘Sounds like there is a lot you’re willing to forgive’

‘I will never forgive him’

The pause she takes. Because maybe she can. But then she realizes that Coulson here is probing her to see if she can take him on because he’s sending her after him so she tells him no because this is her family and he is their enemy.

But always remember that there was a day where she told Ward that she coukld never understand him and now here we are.

It’s all coming full circle everyone and I can’t wait.
