today, my dad pulled into the parking lot where i work to pick me up, and my sister who had been at the corner of the store after i told her friends’ parents to drop her off. her friend was with her. my 11 year old sister said, “daddy’s here!” “alright,” i said, getting ready to get off my shift. “daddy?” her friend asked, and cocked an amused brow. “yeah?” my sister said, giving her a weird look. “you call him ‘daddy’? that’s weird. don’t you know what that means?” she asked. “yeah,” my sister said, looking at her like she was stupid. “it’s another word for ‘father.’” being horrified at the possible insinuation her friend had made, i interjected. “you ready to go, girls?”.

for adults that say that DD/lg doesn’t effect or hurt people outside of “the community”: i just witnessed an 11-year old girl acting like it’s common knowledge that the term “daddy” is sexual. that is outside of the community. that is harmful. that is toxic. that is hurtful. and i will never forgive any of you for it, and will always hold you especially accountable for the increased pedophilia in porn and rape culture year by year.

From Old Friend Senior Dog Sanctuary:

CHANGE IS IN THE AIR… WE NEED YOUR HELP! On August 19, the county zoning board, fueled by a few neighbors who think that OFSDS has grown too large for the neighborhood, gave us 60 days to move Sanctuary Dogs and operations.

The change will be positive. We are currently trying to work through a lease and also looking at other options that are more public than we are now. This will allow growth with the ability for more volunteers, supporters and potential forever families to visit. The time crunch, however, is not good and we will have to come up with a solution soon to avoid fines and legal penalties. We have promised our Old Friends that we will care for them for the rest of their lives and we will NEVER go back on that promise. 

We don’t often ask for donations, but moving will be expensive and now is a special time for us. If you are able to donate to our Moving Fund, no matter how much, please go to http://oldfriendsseniordogs.com/donate.html to donate by credit card, PayPal or check. 

Ultimately, this will be a GREAT move for OFSDS, we just have to get through this transitional stage. We will come out STRONGER and BETTER and in a position to help more Old Friends on the other side.

So, the good news is that for the time being Mocha’s health is waning towards positive. The lymph nodes have gone down and aside from the itching it looks like she’s not losing more fur. She’s had an ultrasound and is on a steady regimen of medication that she absolutely abhors and is healing up okay. But I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish any of this without the help everyone gave me.

The bad news is that every cent went to taking care of her, including whatever I had left. As I’d mentioned before, I was in between jobs. Still am (even though I’ve got my fingers crossed for an amazing job I’m interviewing for tomorrow). Which means I have absolutely no means to pay my rent this month. On September 1st I either have $500 for rent or I’m getting evicted. I’ve done everything I can to get an extension, but they’re not budging. I have nowhere to go if I can’t pay, so obviously I’m stressing hard right now.

So my goal is $500 by next week. I’m offering art commissions, tattoo designs, and whatever else in order to earn it. If anyone is interested, please contact me and I’ll be happy to talk about prices and give you art examples. This is dire, guys. I can’t make that clear enough. If I don’t raise the money I have no other options. And I’ll be completely honest; the thought of being homeless fucking terrifies me.

look… i’m not saying you’ve got to stop loving scully or jillian holtzmann… you don’t have to stop acting like gillian anderson or kate mckinnon have affected your life, made you realize you were gay, helped you accept yourself, etc, but if you can’t at least say “these women are transmisogynistic and that’s wrong” and prioritize trans women over cis celebrities who won’t hear or care about anything you say, that’s sad. if you’re going to put blind idolization over trans woman’s lives, that’s pretty pathetic.
