She was silently weeping observing little elflings stumbling through woods.
Even if not bodily there, she managed to scare off several predators away and place found berries and water on their path.
When little ones hid themseves for the night in some nook beneath roots, she stood guard of their sleep.
With spectral fingers she gently brushed away mud, leaves, tears.... from soft cheeks not noticing slight movement of them through her own tears.
When she drifted to the opening of the nook, two pairs of grey eyes blinked at her and themselves in wonder. But little ones felt more safe with that spectre on their side. Unbeknown to all them one other dark haired gracefull being felt and went after that feel of scare and desire for safety.
Sometime nearing the dawn, certain spectre had guarded her elflings and heard faint rustle of a horse going through the forest. All three of them tensed and pinned their gazes to a place from where the sound kept coming.
And rider was stunned at the sight of twin half-elven children, dirty, scared and huddling behind a semi transparent figure of strangely dressed woman.
He dismounted and carefully without any weapons whatsoever came as close as he dared.
- Greetings. I am Maglor. I felt your call and I would like to help.- he kneeled to look in the eyes of little ones. Which shrank halfway away unsure
-Why should we tel you anything!- exclaimed one braver a bit - all other elves hurt us and threw away.
The transparent one kneeled also visibly concentrating and put her hands on dark haired heads. - I am being pulled back. I can not help you even the same as I tried.- she told them quietly and flickered briefly- you need to eat, learn, sleep and I can feel that this one wish to help you as much as he can. - she then looked pleadingly at Maglor
- Please. Help these children grow and live. They deserve it.- she flickered more often.
- I swear to do my best for them - he promised and gained two armfulls of tired and sad children.
- I wish you the best life for you there can be, I will pray for you.- her blessing and voice, as well as figure faded leaving two teary eyed little ones and one thoughtful biger one in the chumming Forrest.
Lord Elrond jolted suddenly to consciousness at his chair in his study.
-something will happen- he explained to concerned Lindir appearing near-i had that vision when they were big changes in my life.
And again half elf had been pulled somewhere.
He felt transparent and floating and around himself he felt extremely tall falling and crumbling building.
Instinctively he fallowed pull he felt deeper into a rubble and suddenly he saw part of debris very grudgingly moving and shifting pushed from beneath.
He concentrated as much as he could and pulled few of the most stubborn off. From the opening quickly scrambled people in similar clothing to those of spectre from Elrond childhood.
While helping each other to where could be seen rescue teams they didn't see one last person holding and being nearly buried under one of beams on the side.
Ghostly Elrond quickly floated there recognising the woman that helped two twins in the forest.
-You are here- he whispered- I will try to lift it
-.... You .... Grew...- she coughed- I have... Must broken... Something...
Brunet indeed yanked the mass off and a woman pulled herself free before rubble went down where she had laid.
Then Elven lord did something different and through his own power as well as prayers to and will of Eru, took the very hurt woman to Imladris.
Where several elves which gathered near unmoving form of Elrond in his chair, they got the shock of their immortal lives when from nowhere went blinding flash of light.
Then their friend, lord, father appeared standing strong but with battered, barely conscious woman in arms and more dischelved appearance then ever.
- I will tell you all everything after I take care of her- he exclaimed, then marched out of the door with Glorfindel and Lindir quickly jumping to assist.
And after an hour of trating, strengthening and healing a patient, Elrond breathed relieved and went back to his quarters living one assistant on the watch.
There gathering and repairing his appearance he started to tell the tale of her, his and Elros' beginnings and current stumble through world's.
- I want personally take care of her, both my brother and I owe her much. I'm asking you to help me with Imladris' handling. - he summarised quietly looking each of them in the eyes.
Getting ensurance from all Elrond breathed and wandered back into the room of his unusual patient.
Seated under the window he looked at the unmoving person on the bed contemplating her sharper colours and not much older appearance.
Musing how she in the end came out real, remembering, and touchable this time half elf reminiscing on two little boys in the cruel forest, nearly missed stirring of a patient in rays of early sunrise.
Lookin how sun crept through her pale but more transparent face framed by bold dark -red waves
Violet and green gaze met grey and a shy smile spread from them onto whole face.
Elrond responded with a smile of his own.
- Am I in your home?- she asked trying to sit, and looking around the room and throughout the window. Gritting her teeth Alaina managed to sit with the healer's help.
-Yes. Although how I had been able to bring you here, and yet you could not stay then....... Elrond trailed....
- That ... Because I had THEN ties to my world in my family. Now I have not and .... I had thought about you both ever since.... As They died....- a flicker of pain shot through her.
- We both had dreamt of meeting you again so we could thank you, but Elros could not choose immortality and .....- Elrond startled feeling still weak but heart full hug and reciprocated.
- You were children, I needed to help you however I could just for that- she murmured into strong chest.
Elrond smiled to himself and put Alaina back on the pillows.
- Now I can take care of you and we will determine where to go with all of this when you will get healthy- he admonished
