Hello and welcome to @wingreference!
The majority of this blog’s content relates to birds, but we have bats and insects as well. Occasionally, we reblog tutorials and examples of wings in art.
For organizational purposes, each image is tagged with a broad category and one to three specific groups. For example, a picture of a golden eagle will be tagged with #bird, #raptor, #eagle, and #golden eagle. This way, you can narrow or widen your search as needed.
This blog contains occasional images of preserved specimens, including birds’ wings and pinned insects. If you would like to avoid this content, please blacklist the tag #dead-or-preserved.
In most cases, the images here either belong to the original poster or have been adequately sourced and reposted with permission. If an image has been misattributed, or if it is yours and you would like it taken down, please let us know so we can fix it.
Asks, requests, and submissions are always welcome! We’d love to hear from you.
