World Champions are playing for the World Championship!
I am very happy about the way the team played, with true grit. Plus, I believe that the USA are very similar to us in terms of quality and overall level, so beating them was twice as beautiful. - Vital Heynen
Winiarski translation
Winiar announced he was retiring from volleyball and played his last matches in April. :( Dziula1010 on twitter has kindly translated some quotes from recent articles and interviews for me! Sorry I’ve been slow posting this.
translated from these at skra.pl 1 * 2 * 3
What I have learned during playing volleyball is that every cloud has a silver lining. That’s why more rain gives more joy and pleasure.
The thought [of retiring] had crossed my mind several times. I wanted to announce it after this season, but something that took place several days ago (another medical procedure) made me sure that my time had come and I've already done my thing.
I’ve been getting used to the idea and actually I’ve already reconciled myself to it. The most emotional moments were those when I was thinking about hanging up my spikes and when I made my decision. Now I’m happy. I was able to compete at the highest level for all these years and achieve many successes. In this moment I’m truly happy and glad, and proud of everything that happened in my sporting life.
Does anyone feel helpful and wonderful enough to translate a new video for me? The English doesn’t have to be perfect though good is helpful (I can correct/help). Anyone?

Translation by @prosaen of this video.
We're going to play a match against Legia. Surely it's, you could say, a bit of a historical match because Legia Warszawa is not only football but has also quite a rich history regarding volleyball. This team of course doesn't play at the level as it used to, however the name itself demands to be taken very seriously and I think that, a bit in the form of a test and also for everyone to have fun, we're going to play against Legia.

Translation of an interview at Przegląd Sportowy, by Magdalena
(I’ve been slow to post this, sorry, Magdalena! Thank you very much for translating! :) )
Grzesiek Bociek: I cried!
(intro by PS) I have to upload the video, but it’s a unique conversation…
Ps. This evening another section with Andrzej and Karol. Amongst other things: how to not sign the worst contract in your whole life. Enjoy reading and watching later.
Interview with Grzegorz Bociek, opposite in ZAKSA Kędzierzyn Koźle.
Opposite in ZAKSA and Poland's National Team – Grzegorz Bociek has won the battle against cancer, with which he struggled since September last year. Doctors says that in a month he will be able to train and he should be able to get ready for the next season of PlusLiga.
KAMIL SKŁADOWSKI: We’ve come together, because you want to announce great news, right?
GRZEGORZ BOCIEK: Yes. Two days ago I underwent a medical check up In Opole. I was waiting for them for one week , because machinery broke down. The doctor found another place with a tomograph [CT scanner], where I underwent the check up. On Thursday morning she informed me that the results are good, I’m healthy and in a month I can go back to work, training! This time I should be ready to prepare norm ally for the season.
Did you jump for joy?
