To say Winnie was annoyed, was probably an understatement. Her big brother had gotten married, and hadn’t bothered to tell her. Caden had just showed up with some tall, handsome bloke on his arm and the first thing that had caught her eye was the matching silver bands on their ring fingers.
She’d stayed polite, of course, but had vanished to her room the moment she could, teeth tugging on her lower lip as she tried not to let it bother her. A soft knock at the door drew her from her thoughts, and Winnie let out a sigh as she called the person in.
A sheepish looking Caden peeped through the door, holding something behind his back. After a brief question as to what he was doing there, he pulled out a bouquet of daffodils. Some of her favourite flowers.
She tried not to let the smile slip onto her face as he stumbled through an explanation of how it hadn’t been planned at all. He’d been seeing the other casually until Emrys had well, technically died, and not wanted to waste more time. Winnie couldn’t stay mad at him for long, he was her brother and she was happy for him, of course. So with a promise that she could throw them a party as she excitedly wrapped her arms around him, Winnie forgave him.
It was no surprise that when the new husband came to find him, he found them sat on Winnie’s bed, the younger girl’s head resting ontop of her brother’s shoulder. A wide smile present on her lips as Caden told her all about his new found love. Something Winnie hoped to have, her mind flickering to the thought of a certain Blonde who couldn’t ever seem to leave her mind.
