3 Cosy Pubs this Winter!

With the weather as low as -8 degrees these past few evenings there's nothing better to be doing the cosying up in a nice warm pub with a drink of your choosing! In this cold weather a hot whiskey would be my drink of choice.

Our first cosy suggestion would be the Gingerman, located on Fenian Street. One of the cosiest, elaborately decorated pubs in town. Perfect for a hot whiskey in one of its many snugs. Its definitely where you will find me this weekend.

Secondly we have the Bankers pub, located on Trinity Street. One of the last remaining traditional pubs in Dublin's city centre. Once you have finished your shopping on Grafton Street, stop in here before you catch the bus home for a quick cosy pint of Guinness, you won't regret it.

Last but not least, not only one of my favourite pubs in Dublin but most Dubliner's favourite pub, Grogans. This well-known establishment located on South William Street is a perfect location for a post-shopping tipple.

Of course there are many more pubs in Dublin to choose from but these 3 have never let me down for a nice cosy pint or two.

Dublin Winter Lights returns to Merrion Square Park

Dublin winter lights returns to Merrion Square Park this Thursday 1st to December 22nd!

Dublin City Council is delighted to announce the return of the dazzling ‘Dublin Winter Lights’ to Merrion Square Park. 

Tickets for December 1st - December 14th will be available from tomorrow, November 25th, from 0800.

Tickets for December 15th – December 22nd will be available from 2nd December from 0800.

The World Cup Returns!

It's that wonderful time of the year for football fans as the long anticipated World Cup arrives back on our screens. Dublin has a host of venues for fans to watch the tournament from smaller, quiet pubs to lively and buzzing bars.

The Living Room, on Cathal Brugha Street, is a famous spot for all sports lovers, with several screens and a huge beer garden this bar is perfect for those looking for a vibrant and lively atmosphere.

D Two, on Harcourt Street, is another renowned venue for sports fans. It was the official World Cup venue in Dublin in 2014 and it's atmosphere and energy will definitely not disappoint.

The Bleeding Horse, on Camden Street, is a top choice for those looking for a more cosy, relaxed pub vibe. Plus, if you get hungry during the match they have a huge menu with selections from vegan curries to sirloin steak sandwiches.

McGowan's Pub, in Phibsboro, is another sports-mad pub located just outside of the city centre. McGowan's is perfect for kicking back and enjoying a few pints with friends.

BODY Exhibition

BODY is making it's debut in Dublin's Merrion Square this weekend (16th-19th of November) for Science Week 2022. BODY is an outdoor immersive experience inspired by anatomical science.

Journey through 6 different mesmerising zones mixing human biology with light, special effects, sound and fire. BODY has been designed to inspire young and curious minds as well as captivate and enthral older generations.

The exhibition is fully wheelchair accessible and tickets are free of charge - pre-booking is strongly recommended.

Another great idea for families looking to do something fun with children is ice skating! Ice skating located in Blanchardstown shopping center welcomes every type of levels, with skating aids for children and children's rinks also available.

This activity can be enjoyed from November 18th 2022 until January 29th 2023.

Students get the chance to skate at a reduced price of just €16. Families of 3 or more members get reduced price as well!

Dublin Castle Christmas Market

It's coming back! Get ready for Dublin's most iconic Christmas market to return to Dublin Castle from the 8th of December to the 21st this festive season. The Dublin Castle Christmas Market is held in the city centre on the impressive castle grounds annually.

The market hosts a wide array of activities - with something for everyone, including; traditional market stalls selling handcrafted goods, food and beverages, live performances by the Dublin Gospel Choir and a carousel.

The market is the perfect place to soak up the city's Christmas atmosphere and then head off to one of the many local pubs and restaurants to finish your evening.
