I want Brienne to meet the ghost of Duncan.

Old Duncan, near 70, like Barristan, who saw most of Westeros and lived an eventful life and fathered at least one bastard in the North and had a child with enough status to become an ancestor to Brienne and take his old shield along. A Dunk who went through his own corruption arc, a slow-boiled frog, a kingsguard, at Egg's side every step of the way until the very end. Whatever he chose to be at that moment, we know he waited too long to be it.

If he saw her. A knight who is not a knight, Too-Tall, too earnest, an image of what he thought could be, what he may have even forgotten he truly believed in at one point. With that little squire at her side. No chance and no choice.

Devastating.
