Winter Wonderland Pokemon Contest

Welcome to the festive one off Pokemon Contest for the tumblr role playing community! Sadly entries for the competition are now closed, but feel free to follow the action!

Theme: Midnight Circus.

Being someone who has a strong liking for dark colors, it didn’t take Mei that long to choose the perfect outfit for the Winter Wonderland Contest. She would take the appearance of a Circus Ring Master. Taking some time to think about which of her pokemon she would use, she chose her Glaceon and her Gardevoir. The two who had the most Contest Experience.

Choosing her duo was easy… The outfit? Not so much. After surrendering over some money to someone who actually knew a bit more about contests, she got back this little number. Yeah, that’ll do nicely.

The outfit was the easy part, but the Pokemon? Not so much. She had relied in the past on mainly a grass/fire focused approach with her Ninetales and Espeon, with the poison from her two snakes. It had been a long time since she’d used them, but Evie decided that the two best suited for this one would be Daphne the Roserade and Persephone the Milotic.

True Reveal!

It took a few more hours, but Eva finished it. Her Winter Contest dress, she collapsed back onto the floor. Fingers were sore from hand laying certain parts but it was worth it. She had decided on the duo to compete with her, which was the hardest part for her. Yet she settled for Rhett and Scarlett, yes she named her Gardevoir and Gallade after movie characters.

I think we have a little problem here, obviously I don't want to call things off because that'll spoil it for those who HAVE made the effort.

Winter Wonderland Contest - Costume and Team

Diana gasped in awe as she opened her package from Eva - her costume for the Winter Wonderland Contest that was coming up.

She had approach the other trainer and asked for assistance with her costume.  The two of them had competed in a few contests together, and the Dragon Tamer knew that the coordinator made her own costumes.  She really admired Eva for her creativity, for Diana herself wasn’t that good at sewing.  She was a little good at coming up with design ideas, but costumes were not one of her specialties.  She of course offered to pay Eva for the supplies and her time, which she was glad when the other girl accepted.  Even though they were friends, she wasn’t going to let her do a commission for her without being paid.

She had wanted something to compliment her team, and Eva had not disappointed her with her work.

"It’s perfect!" she whispered, pulling it out and slipping it on.  "This is a masterpiece!"

She twirled around, letting the short flaps of the dress twirl and the sheer fabric of the cloak wrap around her body,  Diana turned to her duo for the contest, striking a somewhat attempt at a seductive pose.  ”A little pinning up of the hair in an up-do and a few subtle trinket placements and I think it’s good to go!  What do the two of you think?”

Masamune crooned, nuzzling the collar of the cloak in happiness at his trainer’s content.  Ashe flitted around chortling, playing with the ends of the cape and sleeves.  They were obviously both happy with the results as well.

"I think this is going to be fun, regardless of the results," she giggled, pulling her companions close.  Her Hydreigon nuzzled his head into the crook of her neck as her Froslass cooed and tucked herself against her trainer’s side.

Dressing Up

As a sort of ‘Round 0’, all coordinators are required to dress up according to the theme. 

The theme, of course, is Winter Wonderland. 

For Contestants

Please do one of the following; Draw your character in their costume Use a doll maker  Write a description

Don’t panic about your drawing or writing style, so long as it’s made clear what the costume looks like. 

For Judges

Mark all costumes out of 10. Cast your votes in one post in the private board (which will be made soon)

Consider the following; Have they dressed appropriate to the theme? Does the outfit compliment their pokemon? Is the outfit stylish and fashionable?

Quickie question, if we made our outfits ((around the time Evie first posted about it)) already, do we need to submit them to you or anything? Or link it some where on our own blog?

The plan is to wait until pictures/descriptions are uploaded and tagged and then do one big master post, linking to each individual entrant and also a link on the contestants page :)

Are you allowed to change Pokemon after those two rounds?

I assume you meant to say if you can change it after the first round? In which case no, the pokemon used in the Appeal section must also be used in the Battle section.
