[Image 1: Shadowheart, with her face uncovered and holding a mask of Larian’s favourite vampire character in her hands, asks Gale: “Are you sure we will get Larian’s attention with this?”. In front of her,  with a bit of his face covered with the same type of mask, Gale answers ” It’s not a perfect plan, but I think it’ll send them a message.“ These characters have their faces mostly uncovered because, even if the attention of Larian on them is small, it’s at least "something”.

They should praise me every day”, while Wyll, by her side, holds the same kind of mask as the previous characters and covers her face with it. Wyll is wearing the mask fully as he adds “ Lae'zel, don’t be foolish. If we don’t look like him, we don’t exist. Believe me, I know what I’m talking about.” These last two characters use the mask, covering their faces, pretending to be Larian’s favourite, in hopes to trick the company into giving them more attention.]

This is not aimed at the fans, this is a criticism of Larian; a company which sold a game with several companions in EA and has shown little to no interest in any of them besides their favourite vampire. This is strange considering what they did in previous games like DOS2 [even during EA], where all companions were being promoted weekly in their social media and there was no oversaturation of any of them (even though Fane was always Larian’s favourite). However, it’s worth remembering that Beast ended up being underdeveloped, a path that we see Wyll is already on.

Also, Larian “inviting” people to do more “fanart of Gale and Wyll” in the patch notes felt hypocritical. Larian, the art is out there, there are a lot of artists who have been drawing them since day one, it’s just a matter of having interest in exploring their tags and other websites than Reddit or Twitter.
