The new mod from RevolutionScribe adds only a few seconds to the original scene, but man, it makes it so much more sensual. I added one of the tracks that I associate with my OС and Astarion, and watched the video at least a hundred times while editing it.

I love Maekar so much, "stressed and grumpy mother" coded characters are one of my fav.

More details: - Daeron has a symbolic star in his eye for his visions/dreams. - He's definitively on catnip. - I couldn't find good descriptions of Rhae and Daella so I ended giving one full Targ colouring and the other is a brown tabby (like her mom) but with white markings and lilac eyes. - I NEED to know more about those two and Aemon GIMME MORE MAEKAR CONTENT WITH HIS CHILDREN I'M BEGGING. - Any Targaryen has lilac eyes (or purple) in my mind, so Matarys and Daella get those even if they are not silvery white. - Baelor has a white spot under his lilac eye showing his Targaryen genes and he passed it to his son. I'm soooo weak for the lilac&brown eye combo for Baelor and Valarr <333. He's a mini-Baelor but with a brownish tint in his fur and a bigger white marking referencing his silver hair strand in canon. - Traditional Targaryen cats will be a bit pinkish when little and will get silvery o more golden when they age (look at Maekar compared to Egg, Rhae and Aemon). - Yes, Dunk would be a Maine Coon mix. - Don't ask me how all the dragon riders stuff could work here, I don't know lol.

look. i don’t think my stretch marks are beautiful. i don’t think they’re tiger stripes or natural tattooos. i don’t think my acne is beautiful. i don’t think the bags under my eyes are beautiful. i just think they’re human. and i don’t think i have to be beautiful all of the time in order to be accepted and loved and sucessful. i don’t think every small detail of my outer appearence needs to be translated into prettiness.

fun fact: this POV is actually called “body neutrality” and it’s SO MUCH more accessible/realistic for a lot of people. it’s based on the idea that the way we look is the least interesting/important thing about who we are, and that our bodies are worthy of respect regardless if they fit the mold of the current beauty ideals.

Aside from everything else, HotD writers biased framing of Alicent and green motivations have done so much harm to the fandom. Pre hotd, Greens were not loved but they were still not tribally despised like show-onlys do. Aegon II was still accepted legit king of the Dance because GRRM gave this to him canonically and Alicent still a complex woman and mother whose situation could be sympathised with despite not liking or supporting her actions. The Blacks too like Rhaenyra, Daemon and Mysaria were not well liked either. Overall pre HotD book readers having understood the text were more interested in intellectual stimulating discussion even if they disagreed than the low iq rants of fans now fuelled with headcanons.

Post hotd biased writing and framing, the whole Rhaenyra chosen one prophecy angle alongwith Alicent showcased as religious zealot of faith, everything was flipped on the side. Instead of Targ civil war with both sides flaws and willing to do anything for power, it became saint nyra who can do not wrong vs zealot alicent who was always wrong no matter what. They framed it as targaryen vs hightower to imitate stark vs Lannister conflict to legitmise Rhaenyra and delegitimise Aegon II. Maester propaganda became an excuse to completely retcon characters for headcanons and personal biases. Almost every framing of the greens in HotD was done to mock or undermine them. Even in their seemingly badass moments, they were nerfed by Condal and Sara hess. Totally opposite as an example to how the AkoTSk antagonist side is adapted. Maekar, Aerion and even Daeron are given depth without harming their canon motivation or personality. They are still the bad side opposed to Dunk but they are very competent even when flawed. You can admire them while still acknowledging they are [bad].

On the other hand, Ryan Condal has turned the Greens into joke. I have no problem with the misogyny angle shown it was a big part of Dance although Not the only major issue but Condal has restricted it to saint rhaenyra Only in a callback to selective white [or valyrian here] feminism. This has encouraged the vilest misogynist fans against Alicent for being against their Targ self insert and even helaena is victim of that misogyny from hardline TB incels because of her hightower lineage. In the effort to make the dance all about saint Rhaenyra for dumb pop cult moment with no nuance or source accuracy, sara Hess and Condal has harmed the whole Storytelling. And gave rise to the dumbest and cultiest fandom after Daenerys imps in main series. Atleast daenerys fans were mostly book readers. Rh@nyra cultists are dumber and viler.

I totally agree with your take. Condal and Sara Hess turned the Greens into a caricature. But Anon, there’s literally no Team Green in the show to begin with. The so-called Green faction barely exists as a functional team. Think about what “team” actually means: a group of people working together to defend themselves and their family. That’s the core definition. In the show, Alicent abandoned her children for Rhaenyra that’s basically her turning into Team Black. Aemond literally burns his own brother, so he’s just Team Himself. Even Helaena, telling her brother he will die and giving Daemon advice about killing him? That’s Team Black too. Maelor is removed. So yeah… what’s left? That’s not a team. There’s no Team Green in the show. The writers just destroyed the faction, made them betray each other, and positioned the Blacks as the beloved family who actually stick together and fight for one another.

The Dance in the book is basically a Targaryen family imploding under its own power struggles. Both sides lie, both sides manipulate, both sides commit horrible things because at the end of the day this is a feudal aristocratic war over a chair made of swords. That’s the point. It’s not supposed to be a fairy tale about the rightful hero reclaiming their destiny. It’s a tragedy about how dynasties destroy themselves. But post-HotD framing? Suddenly the whole thing got flipped into “Saint Rhaenyra the Chosen One by the gods vs Evil Religious Alicent.”

And the funniest part is people pretending this is “faithful” while simultaneously using “maester propaganda!!” as a magic excuse for rewriting half the characters. Like okay… so the maesters were biased… therefore the solution is to replace one bias with another bias that conveniently aligns with the writers’ favorites? That’s not correcting history. That’s just fanfiction with a HBO budget.

Even true Daenerys stans are mad at the writers for basically stealing parts of Dany’s arc and giving them to Rhaenyra.
