How I Make History Timelines

oml so I was halfway done making this post but my computer crashed and so I have to do it all over again :’-)) but HEY GUYS! this is how I made my history timeline. THANK YALL SO MUCH FOR 150+ FOLLOWERS!! 

Step 1: Plan Your Timeline

Write out the years and events you need in your timeline on a separate piece of paper. You don’t have to elaborate here. This is just for reference later on so you don’t miss out any dates and to plan out your space.

Step 2: Name your Timeline

I did my timeline on a blank A5 notebook in landscape, but you can do whatever you prefer. Give your timeline a name eg. the chapter it’s from or the main event. This is for easy reference later on. Next, place your ruler in the middle of the paper and draw 2 lines on each side of it. Leave some space at the end of the lines as you will draw an arrowhead there. Draw another arrowhead at the start of the 2 lines. It should look something like this:

Alexander II’s reforms!

Petr Valuev, the Minister of the Interior, suggested in memoranda of 1861 and 1862 that Alexander II should take steps towards representative government by creating a cabinet of ministers and allowing the nobility and the nationalities to have a voice in the state council. At around the same time, the provincial assembly of the Moscow gentry (which had been put together to help work out the details of the emancipation of the serfs) called for free speech, equal rights for all social classes, elected local government and a representative assembly in St. Petersburg.

Alexander II rejected these proposals on the grounds that the replacement of autocracy by constitutional government would cause the Russian Empire to disintegrate. However, he did push forwards an intense programme of reforms, which went beyond the emancipation of the serfs.
