floor finished! and that's all that was left over
and a race to the finish............
hardwood!
floor, floor, floor
beginning the hardwood floor
remember that floor I said I didn't want to do?
So, tile looked great!..........and did I mention that my friend is a chef? So he got an awesome forged pot rack, looks amazing
okay, so, when things kicked off I was good with doing everything in the remodel, but I said I didn't want to do the tile or the floor..........I didn't place the tile........but I did the grout......
more under cabinet lights.........and.....one of the issues that came up was that a couple of the doors were too close to (1) the wall and (2) the fridge. So I ran them through the router to round the edge then used cabinet paint on them. They came out beautifully, you really couldn't tell they'd been altered.
under the sink........and under the cabinets...........lights.......atmosphere.....looking good
more cabinets, wall finished base cabinets and butcher-block counters, under sink stuff
more cabinets and the range hood that vented to the outside
The old kitchen, the old cabinets just visible. and new cabinets
tale of two kitchens
Alright.........happy pandemic everyone I didn't realize that I haven't dropped anything here in so long........ So, I've been doing jobs for different people on an app since last fall. It turned out that a friend wanted to redo his kitchen and I told him I could help take out a wall that needed to go, well, the wall turned into helping redo the entire kitchen. On the first visit though, I mentioned that I'd love to take the old cablinets and low and behold, I've ended up redoing my kitchen too. His is finished now, mine is nearing completion.
scavanged some lights from my daughters basement when we redid her ceiling recently and put them in mine. I don't need fancy just functional. It's nice to have more light down there, makes it almost habitable :)
with all the cleaning in the yard I thought it might be nice to have a place to sit, drink a beer and throw.....um........burnables on the fire. So I built myself an adirondack chair from wood I had in the house. it might actually be too nice to leave out in the yard. I don't live in the best neighborhood.
