Dear sister,

You are literally the bravest person I know and I don’t know how you do it. What I do know is that I’m always in awe when it comes to you, except when you all me a cat. Regardless, for you I will be a cat. I will follow you into the darkest shadows of your life and call out to you in the blackest corners of your heart. I will never leave your side. I will never leave you. You don’t have to be brave on your own.

There’s so many definitions of a soulmate but I don’t need to read any of them to know that you are one of mine. We are symbiotic, meant to meet. Yes, it’s cheesy but I’m being serious. We haven’t let go of each other’s hand since then. Or making each other laugh. Or crying to each other. Meeting you is one of my greatest blessings. You are my sister, as true as every meaning of the word.

No matter where life takes us, I’ll be there for you. I don’t care if I’m doing something important or if we haven’t spoken in months, nothing will change that. The only thing that will change is us. I look forward to meeting every new version of you. That version is still my best friend and sister. I can wish till all of my eyelashes are gone that you won’t have troubles or that I can zap them away for you but that’s not how it works.

I hope that you heal from every hurt. I hope that you never feel hesitant when speaking to me about anything. I hope that you grow a little shorter. I hope that you never spend night alone in pain. I hope that you never feel pressured into anything or dealing with anyone, myself included. I hope you get wicked donuts this weekend. I hope that reading this invoked nothing from you but a smile.
