I Blocked a Nazi Apologist

I was playing Battlefield V with a stranger. We were the best two players in this server of over 100. We were having so much fun dominating the lobby together. I added them as a friend on EA. They later messaged me and seemed eager to really make friends. I asked them about their name. They explained it was a reference to a manga about a man turning into a woman. I told them about myself being transgender. I mentioned how open I am about this despite getting harassment in game.

They then admitted they were an unironic nazi apologist. They asked if we could put our political ideologies aside and just play together instead.

"Being an apologist for people that would see me eradicated is not good for me. I can't share a table with a nazi. I hope you reconsider your place within the ideology. I know you won't anytime soon, so I'm going to go."

They seemed sad to see me go. I blocked a nazi apologist. I imagine it must be surreal to meet someone like the character from the property where they took their name. Then to get along with them so well. Only for that person to find their beliefs abhorrent and immediately leave them. I hope I left an impact.

Avatar 2: The Last Waterbender was a good movie. It always feels good to watch fascists and evil opportunistic capitalists get shot in the chest with big arrow.

The Avatarians are profoundly cishet though. Them adhering to the same patriarchal bullshit feels typical and lazy. It’s like: of course these aliens follow the same father-led nuclear family structure, with societies led by single men, and gender roles are easy to spot from a mile away and they’re all straight. Huge blue ppl with tails and worship nature? Audiences love it. A queer one? I don’t think so. People can’t relate to that.

Also Spider was a flat character that was only around to allow those taking advantage of him to appear more complex (racist step-mom and bio-dad) Which felt pretty shitty to go completely unaddressed.
