It was a vast change from the beauty of the Isle of Skye compared to a drab castle in the frozen wastes of Russia. Patrick felt far out of his depth among all these supernatural creatures when he was a simple human. He knew of vampires of course but he had never been in such close proximity to him. While he had been there only a few days, he was beginning to realise how ripe with sin this castle was. He had begun to just day dream, staring at the walls in hopes that time would go by quickly. He heard someone approach and stop at the door of his cell but he didn’t look up. “I’m certain there is someone here who is more deserving of your time,” he said, not looking away from the wall.

Patrick wasn’t having the best of luck and his mood was already low but being poked and prodded because he was a human wasn’t helping. He thought the young man might be missing his point. He didn’t want anyone’s attention or time. He wasn’t fooled into thinking he would escape, he was human after all. It was a silly hope but he would still try to be invisible. Seeing the offering made the priest’s expression soften. He knew it was a kindness from the other slave, one that he didn’t need to extend to him. “Thank you,” he murmured, looking down at the food. “I’m okay though, you should save that for yourself.” The boy looked far skinnier than he did and he doubted slaves ate well down here. “I’m not that hungry.” It felt like he had no appetite since arriving at the castle, his stomach being chewed up with anxious nerves.
Tristan remembered all too well the emotions and fear of suddenly waking up being stuck in an unfamiliar place and told you were at the mercy of other creatures. He had always believed he could be under the mercy of no one else but God, but the castle was slowly showing him otherwise. “You’re welcome. If you ever need anything, there are a few good men down here who are more than willing to help. It’s... not an easy adjustment to make.” He gavethe stranger a small smile. “Then keep it, just in case. Dinner will roll around before we know it, you don’t gotta worry about me. It’s more important to get you new ones... accustomed to this hole.” He spoke in his southern rythm, chuckling briefly as an attempt to calm the other man.
