A diamond ring.
He remembers it’s shine that brought him in like a moth to a flame, his fingers running down the glass which held it captive. It was on display for all to see, but his mind desperately wished for it to not be tainted by the bystander’s eye. He pulled out his wallet hastily, unable to see it be confined in that vast glass. He took the ring tucked away in the small, blue box. He wasted no time walking out of the store into the bright daylight.
During the whole carriage ride, Dio’s knee bounced up and down, his mind drowned by anxious thoughts. Blunt yet trimmed fingernails tapped on the windowsill, his eyes watching the scenery move by. A let out a exhale seeing his family’s mansion in front of him, a sense of relief escaping his soul as he walked out without the normal assistance of the driver. He did not wish to waste time.
His footsteps rang through the corridor, his blunt heels tapping against the white tiles. He walked right to the backyard of the mansion, seeing the excessive amount of clothes pinned to the wire. He saw that flash of beach blonde, an odd sense of excitement running through him. It was too foreign for his soul, he did not know how to take it.
“Suzie,” His broad hands grasped her shoulder, turning her around with ease as he pushed her small frame to his chest, “I have been plagued with thoughts of you. My nights have been sleepless knowing you were not there. We have been separated too far, my schooling demanding we must part for it to hold my undivided attention. I have grown bored and tired of it.”
“I hope you can accept my apology.” He pulls out the box tucked around in his jacket, putting it in her small palm. “I saw this and my thoughts of you came crashing in. It would have been a sin for me not to buy you this.”
