So, in a nutshell, my therapy appointment today consisted of:

Pro: "Why do you think you're the scapegoat?"

Me: *Proceeds to explain how my mom and grandma competed for my affection growing up.*

Pro: *Therapist has ipiphany - this has never been about you!*

Me: Nope.

Pro: *Explains that mom wished for relationship with me and is angry for not getting it.* "You have to focus on what she does. Not what she says. Because her words come from a place of jealousy. But her actions show she sees you as an equal - even when you weren't."
