Words on words
( &. miguel):
âWell usually,â he started with a smile and a slightly tilted head, turning and starting once more down the street, âweird window people end up being stalkers or robbers. Or monsters in a horror movie. So unless youâve started to lead a life of assorted crime youâre not telling me aboutâŠâ he gave her a vague gesture that could only be read as you know. Part of him was tempted to ask her about her Winnie theory, but aside from the fact that he hated himself for mentally calling it a theory like they were speculating about a TV show, she actually seemed happy with a distraction - and hell, he wasnât about try and be the one to ruin that. âCome on, tell me one time a weird window person hasnât been creepy.â
honey laughed at his description of weird window people. she always found him hilarious. he did have a point though...those window people always had been quite creepy. she took another good glance at him, studying him. she knew him quite well as they were exes after all. despite this, they maintained an amazing friendship, something honey was quite fond of. she held him near and dear to her heart. "hey weird window person number one...wanna head back to my place? coffee is calling my name right now."
( &. thomas)
Thomas chuckled at her question, shaking his head as they made their way down the street. âWell, I have an apartment in Axiorn Studios, which was that big building I was in front of when we met.â He explained with a shrug. âI donât consider it home though, more of a place to keep my things.â He chuckled at that, shaking his head as he glanced over at her. âAs for Angel Falls⊠we got a pretty wide variety of people âround here. Some of âem are great people, the best people you could know. Others⊠eh, I wouldnât stay around âem for too long. Theyâre pretty shady.â Thomas shook his head. âAll in all, it ainât necessarily a bad place⊠just a rough one.â
honey let his description of angel falls wrap inside of her head. she admired how he truly gave a full description -- just what she had been hoping for. her curious tendencies had been fulfilled.Â
of course, being that she was a curious girl, she had questions for him.  many of them in fact, but she decided to ask only one..the one that felt most important to her. "then where do you consider home? does angel falls not feel 'right' for you, sometimes?"
( &. rachelle)
âWell, I donât really know where Iâm going,â Rachelle said with a small smile. âThough, getting there is half the fun, right?â They looped their arm through Honeyâs and started walking.
honey admired their ambition, letting them take control. she silently agreed, letting them show honey around beautiful sunnyside. she truly enjoyed their company -- she wouldnât mind more time like this.
(&. rachelle):
âItâs nice to meet you!â Rachelle looked around the two of them before looking at the girl again, their eyebrows wiggling a bit. âFeel like going on an adventure with me?â
"i would love that, in fact! do you have anywhere in mind?" she asked, holding out her arm for them to link with. "i'd let you lead the way, hon."
(&. thomas):
Thomas chuckled and held out his arm for her to take- he was on the rough side of the tracks but he was a gentleman after all. He would gladly escort the lady to the tattoo parlor arm in arm. âThat is a pretty slick part of town. Itâs all shiny, like itâs a whole other city.â He mused as he started walking along. âNo wonder youâre all techy.â
"it truly is," she agreed as they made they way to the parlor. she wouldn't mind spending a fair amount of time with him -- he was quite the gentleman. honey took note of that..just for future reference. "so..dear o'malley, tell me about your home. include everything."
(&. roxy)
Having the bakery on the way to work used to be something Roxy loved very much, able to stop by before, after or during her break and each time without fail, Winnieâs kindness and winning smile was always there to happily greet her and anyone else who stepped foot in the store; now, having to walk past it was just heartbreaking, looking at the closed doors with next to no knowledge of the beloved Winnieâs disappearance. She was walking by, just finishing up at the flower shop when she saw the girl standing there, able to grieve along with her, though despite the unknown, the Latina tried her best to look at the positives. âIâmâŠIâm sure itâll all be okay, soon. The detectives seem to know what theyâre doinâ and-and they should find somethinâ soonâŠâ She trailed off at the end of the sentence, unsure who she was really trying to convince here.
honey turned and noticed someone new aiding and giving her advice. she truly enjoyed the company, a small smile rising up aganist her own cheeks. "i truly hope things work out. i hate being apart from her...it really fucking sucks, man." honey shook off her tears and asked, "i need to get my mind off of this...do you want to join me for coffee or something?" despite barely knowing her, she seemed quite sweet, and hey...she probably could use it too.
(&. cara)
Caraâs head snapped to the side, a swollen red beginning to color her jaw. Slowly, her head turned back to face her, eyes hot with fury as her body started to tighten. A second before it happened, Cara had been thinking about all the times sheâd been sent to anger management after an outburst. She had been about to burst into apologies when Honeyâs fist hit.
But now. Cara felt herself rear back a step or two before hurtling forward in an attempt to knock them both to the ground.
honey didn't expect to hit the ground. she didn't remember the fight at all really. all she remembered was a lot of screaming and a fair amount of people noticing and urging them on. she wasn't one to fight people, she'd much rather be in her lab...so even she wondered why the hell she'd knock out cara. after the fight ended, the first thing honey did was check out her face. just as expected, she had a nasty black eye and dear god...it defintely wasn't pretty. explaining why she had a black eye to her friends certainly wouldn't be easy.
(&. miguel)
âYeah?â he prompted, furrowing his eyebrows slightly. He kept his eyes on her for a second before looking back up to the window, and though he was still trying to keep smiling enough that he looked supportive, he could tell by his reflection that it wasnât fully masking his own doubt. As much as he tried to convince himself that Winnie was just out of town for a while, that she probably just forgot to let anyone know, that just didnât seem like something sheâd do - but he knew that saying that definitely wouldnât help her feel better.
Before she had a chance to say anything, he had already glanced away down the street and gently shrugged the shoulder she was leaning her head on, turning his head back for a moment to give her another small smile. âCâmon, you wanna go for a walk? Weâre starting to look like weird window people.â
honey looked up at him, another soft smile meeting his face. miguel was truly one of a kind, she admired that in him. she admired his genoristy and his willingness to take breaks from things that hurt -- like winnie for example. "what's wrong with looking like weird window people?" she said with a laugh, turning on her heel to go with him. she wouldn't mind the distraction..plus, with a really attractive guy, she could focus on him and the view of sunnyside.
(&. cara)
Cara stared at her back for a long second. The sound of blood rushing through her veins was loud in her ears and her face grew hot and red as she watched Honeyâs long blonde hair. It took only a few strides for her to reach forward and grab her by a chunk of her blonde hair.
âHow fucking dare you put words in my mouth. If Winnie left, she is hurting people. Point blank, you dumb bitch,â she said through gritted teeth, her senses gone elsewhere as she twisted her hair around her fist.  âYou donât get to just hurt people because you feel like it. Maybe try looking at something from someone elseâs perspective for once.â She let go, pushing her forward hard, letting go over her hair and backing up from her, facing her in case she planned to retaliate.
as honey's hair was pulled, she let out a loud scream for help. honey, to say the least, was petrified. but she didn't want to go down without a fight -- literally and metaphorically. "watch your tone with me, missy. god, you make me fucking sick." honey turned back around and knocked poor cara out. it was the first she'd ever done something like that. it felt...pretty good.
(&. rachelle)
âWhere is my head,â they said with a small smile, extending their hand out. âIâm RachelleâŠI didnât know Winnie all that well, if Iâm being honest, but how ever long I did know her, she was always smiling.â
"i'm honey!" honey said brightly -- for a change. getting her mind off of this hurtful event made her happy, even if it was about herself. honey extended her hand as well, shaking theirs. making a new friend under these circumstances was quite nice, actually.
(&. jim)
NODDING SLOWLY UPON hearing her words, jim cleared his throat as he thought about his next reply for a second. â thatâs very⊠noble⊠of you. â, he mumbled, even though he believed â nave â may be a better description. but hey â to each their own, right. who was he to tell her what she could or couldnât do. when she offered him the light, jimâs lips curled up in a petite half smile. â thanks, but iâm good. â, he replied as he brought his hand to the back of his head to scratch it.Â
honey noticed his confused expression, before looking down to the floor. did i say something wrong? she thought to herself. she picked herself back up, only this time a little less...harsh? it's possible she came on too strong, that's something she definitely struggled with. "are you sure? i rarely use my light, and for when i do, it's with my friends. please -- consider it a parting gift, perhaps.â
(&. thomas)
âThe gadgets definitely give it away.â Thomas smirked, shaking his head at her playfully. âAngel Falls is pretty different from the rest of the town, every townâs got its rough side of the tracks.â He mused with a shrug. âItâs got some gems though like yours truly.â He smirked. âWhat part of town are ya from?â
honey agreed with him wholeheartedly. every town had it's so-called rough side, but she was opposed to it. she liked the danger.
"i'm from new fransokyo, right in the middle of the university and cherry tree. i think you'd like it there. very...slick, i guess you could say." she said with laugh, offering to link arms with him. ânow dear oâmalley...lead the way."
caralessthanthreeâ:
âThen why not tell anyone?â Cara snapped, feeling her anger bubble up in her stomach.  âWhy not let anyone know where she was going or why? There was a little guy who like, worked for her, what do you think heâs doing while sheâs gone? Probably missing a paycheck because she wanted some âtime off.ââ Her fingernails were digging into her palm now. She had to admit, she didnât care much about whoever worked for Winnie, but she was suddenly very angry.
honey huffed, letting herself overflow with emotion as she spat back to cara. "sometimes people like being alone. they like going on trips and not telling anyone. they like the experience. the rush. the fear. the excitement. trust me, cara, i'd know. don't put shame onto her workers, they're probably fucking grieving too. you never know what someone is going through, so don't you dare assume what's going on in someone's head. thanks." honey turned on her heel, contemplating whether to flip her off or to leave it as it was. she decided on the latter, making her way back home.
(&. miguel)
âSheâs probably just on holiday,â Miguel shrugged with a small smile, coming to a stop beside her. He hadnât meant to eavesdrop, really, but given that his phone was dead it did make listening to music a bit difficult, and having no other distractions made what little conversation he could hear on his walk home the only thing he could focus on. He stood in silence for a moment, following her gaze through the window, and though for a split second he could feel the edge of his mouth twitching downwards, he hurried to force a reassuring smile, glancing back towards her and nudging her shoulder with his. âDo you remember a single time sheâs taken the day off? Ever? If anyone deserves a trip to the Bahamas, itâs Winnie. And she wouldnât want people worrying about it.â
she felt the nudge of someone, insticnting her to turn and put her guard up. however, after she noticed who hit her. she smiled back, resting her head on his shoulder. she sighed, shaking her head. "i can't remember winnie ever taking a break. she deserves one..but i doubt this is a break. i have a feeling i know why she's gone." she felt kind of weird having an idea why someone would take winnie. perhaps jealously. anger. she couldn't pinpoint the exact emotion, but it was something similar to what she felt when her mother died. god, this hurt her more than it should've.
