escapist Jewish f/f books for a dollar or two
If anyone is looking for reading material that’s: 1. fluffy 2. about women in love with each other 3. super inexpensive,
I have a few eBooks that might interest you! I heard that Tumblr doesn’t put posts with links in the search, but my Gumroad (with everything in PDF) is linked on my blog and I’m also on Big Annoying River Site. Oh and by the way in all of these stories one if not both of the women are Jewish.
Knit One Girl Two - an indie dyer falls for the artist whose paintings inspired her latest round of sock club Cinnamon Blade: Knife in Shining Armor - high-heat romance about a snarky badass bi superhero who finally asks out her favorite damsel-in-distress but then their dates keep getting interrupted by her having to go punch monsters Fearless - a band mom who just came out in her early 40′s gets her first lesbian kiss from a dapper butch music teacher from her daughter’s school while everyone is snowed-in at All-State. Will Mel’s dashing flirting be enough to get Lana over her anxiety about returning to violin after a 20 year hiatus? (spoilers yes) Tales from Perach - short story collection featuring various characters in a fairy-tale tropical Jewish setting. The first of the stories, “Your Name is Love”, features lesbians on a scavenger hunt date.
& others!
I hope you enjoy them ^_^ If you have read & liked, I appreciate signal boosts very, very much 🌴
Can confirm, Knit One Girl Two is totes adorbs

BOOOOOOST!
Also Wet Nails! Read Wet Nails! For anyone who fell in love with the actress who played Nefertiri (sp?) in The Ten Commandments, this is for you! I adore and love everything Shira writes, but that one is forever my fave.
*tempts y’all with this post on this day of new gift certificates* :P
One of the things I love about Shira’s work is a sense of breadth. The feeling that, no matter where you look, any minor or bit character has their own background, their own story to tell; it may not be the story you’re reading about this time, but it’s there all the same, and if you somehow managed to follow them instead, you’d end up with just as satisfying a narrative as in the original. It really makes her worlds feel rich and colorful, full of discoveries to be made and new friends to meet.
that’s a really cool compliment – I’m glad to hear it!! <3
<3 Well they speak the truth…you have such a skill with crafting the characters who populate your awesome and adorable fictional worlds :) <3

Havdalah spice container, Germany, late 19th Century.
During Havdalah, a Jewish religious service commemorating the end of Shabbat, the use of all five senses is intended—tasting the wine, smelling the spices, seeing the flame of the candle and feeling its heat, and hearing the blessings. Fragrant cloves, cinnamon, or myrtle leaves are held in artistically decorative spice containers with elaborate metalwork, usually made of tin and silver, and often in the form of towers stylistically influenced by local architecture.
