Okay, this was confusing.

Light Gaia blinked his little eyes as he stirred, head tilting this way and that as he picked out his surroundings. He’d gone to the middle of the Earth in order to get some well-deserved rest, although the urge to remain certainly kept present – only to find himself up on the surface, lying in a field of grass. The small deity shifted, landing on his behind when he stumbled, before the buzzing of his wings picked up as he brought himself up off the ground. Wherever this was, it was definitely not in the Earth’s core, where he should be, and that was a little… Disconcerting.

“Well… That’s different,” he murmured to himself. There must have been some reason that he couldn’t fully go back to sleep, and that meant that he needed to investigate it. Sure, he’d love a proper excuse to go back and see more of the world, but this worried him. The last time he woke up when he shouldn’t have, it nearly meant the end of the world thanks to Eggman’s plans. He really didn’t want to risk sitting around seeing if that might happen again.

Sonic. He’s got to find Sonic. With that thought in mind, the chihuahua flew toward what he saw to be civilization in the distance, just hoping that Sonic might be in the nearby area for him to run into. He kept his sights open for the blue fur of his friend, even shading his eyes with a paw to make certain that he spotted him.

For once the hedgehog was napping, content up a tree in the shade whilst the wind tousled his short fur. Short puffs of air escaped him from time to time, the occasional shift as his tail curled up against his thigh. It was rare to see him so calm, his life so often being high octane and non-stop. Sonic wouldn’t have it any other way, indeed this was exactly what he loved about his life.

Somewhere along the line though something shifts, be it the wind or sun or something else. He blinks, a soft frown creasing his muzzle as he pulls his arms from behind his head and leans forward. Something is wrong but he doesn’t know what, can’t put a finger on it. At least until his bangle catches his eyes, a soft glow emanating from the orb in it’s center.

Blinking he spins it slightly, tapping it as if he expects it to stop. As if he thinks it’s broken or something and that will actually help. Of course it doesn’t, even when he shrugs and heads off to find something to eat it doesn’t stop. If anything it just gets more urgent, the glow pulsating more rapidly. It takes him a while to catch on, to realise the speed changes depending on which direction he goes. Once he does realise his confusion deepens, ears twitching as he heads off in the direction he thinks it wants him to go.

When the think stops flashing and instead just glows he realises. Understands and the grin the spreads across his features is indicative of that. “Chip!” He’d never expected to see his friend again, had thought that was that. The misery of the whole thing had ached for a long time afterwards.

“What’re you doing here, buddy? I thought you were taking a snooze.”
