Brandon got sick on our road trip because we all forgot he doesn't go anywhere outside of our house or our city like. Ever. So he doesn't have a great immune system and also he cant eat at any point before we go on the road because of his IBS and anyway now he's in bed at a Super 8 in Missouri having body chills and I don't know if we'll make it home today and I don't think a sporadic 22-hour long car trip with 4 kids in tow is a great idea but it was definitely a learning experience.

So I quit my job two days before my 31st birthday and now I'm in Denver Colorado and I've discovered that we are not built for the city and the city is not built for my family of six. But today we're going to see about going to the Rockies because thats the reason we came out here. Running away from the consequences of my actions or just resetting my soul? Who knows

But basically Brandon was like "you're in a toxic relationship, your job is killing you, and there's always gonna be one more thing you have to do, one more reason to stay and we're financially able to step away right now and you have to just rip the bandaid off"

So we packed up and started driving. Took two days to get here. And just like that my 11 years with Dollar General are over, my 4.5 years of being a store manager are done, the 81 days in a row that I worked when I got promoted, the doubles, the staffing issues, the trying to do it all by myself, the drama, the 60 hour weeks for 40 hours pay, the not seeing my kids, the working every weekend and every holiday.. it's over. Now I just have to learn how to breathe again and enjoy being alive.

Reached out to someone who applied at a busier store like 20 minutes away from mine and offered the best I can $11/hr 30/hr weeks and instead of declining because of the shit pay she declined because the hours were too much and she'd never see her kids.... mind you I work 50 hours a week and have 4 kids.. I wish I could afford to have personal boundaries lmao but me and DG are fuckin... bound together by my need to not be homeless hahaha
