This is a devlog for my ex-school animation project "Wizard's Apprentice". The specific class I made this may have ended, but the project continues..., and so is the project, for now.
Thank you so much for the support, but I am officially ending this side project.
Why?
Well, I have other things I want to pursue, and if I continue this project according to plan, it would take me a year.
Taking a year for just one 10 minute video doesn’t seem worth it, as the joy of creation has passed and I know that I could do this much better in the future with more skill and time.
The finals went well, but I also realize that I want to pursue other things, too. Thus, this ex-student project would become a "sidequest" of sorts, meaning its initial plans have stretched. Anyways...
Below is if I still want to continue by coloring it, but don't anticipate for this, for I (as of 6 Jun 21) believe that making multiple short stuff is better practice than perfecting 1 stuff over & over.
Month 9: 0:00-1:00 Color Part 1 (Broom Flying to Talk)
Month 10: 1:00-1:45 Color Part 2 (Talk to Class Ends)
Month 11: 1:46-2:20 Color Part 3 (Carter Enters)
Month 12: 2:20-end Color Part 4 (Chase Scene to Ending)
**You may wonder: "why is it a year worth of stuff?"
Because it is. I'm doing this alone (for now), so the time I have is limited...
My work Time:
2 hour: Draw over & fix (90+pics)
1 hour: Grid in (90+pics)
1 hour: Rendering
Rendering multiple times because I just realized Blender also renders my hidden 3d models...
Should've done this in the morning, but stuff happened and this session got from noon to midnight. If it was morning, I think I might have saved at least 30 minutes.
