I genuinely hate this job so fucking much. I understand that im fortunate to have a job rn but the amount of verbal and emotional abuse from this place sucks so much. I get called slurs, I get cussed at, yelled at, sexually harassed, etc. But I have to keep smiling and take it every fucking day. I thought this generation in the nursing homes nowadays were supposed to be the mindful and polite generation that say please and thank you. And yes, not all the residents are bad like this, but its enough of them that make me want to scream. They're lucky im on antidepressants right now, I'd be crying every day.

I hate how complicated companies make it to order medications and supplies for chronic illnesses. Like, yes I still have the illness, why would I lie about that to get expensive prescriptions and painful ways to administer them??? If someone without this illness takes the medications for it, they die so why would I lie about that??? How could I lie about that???

Also, having to call and confirming my entire medical history for a box of needles seems a bit overkill to me. They got rid of ordering supplies online so I have to call in and talk to someone who thinks I'm calling to talk about the weather when I just want my needles and cartridges.

Also also, I have to get my general practitioners authorization to order my antidepressants because THAT makes sense 🙄. She hasn't seen me in two years, why would she have the authority on that medication? She didnt even prescribe it to me???

I've seen a bunch of "fandom etiquette" posts on my dash today and I'm going to say something that is maybe going to be unpopular but;

The absolutely pervasive mentality that unwanted criticism or critique shouldn't be given and should be ignored is why fans of color don't stay in fan spaces.

And I am not going to mince words here:

A lot of you are racist. A lot of your fan works are racist.

That might have been difficult to hear. And if it was, you should probably reflect on why that was.

"Fandom etiquette" has created a space where fans of color either bite our tongues and eventually leave or say something, get dogged on, and then eventually leave.

So much of "fandom etiquette" seems to be about insulating creatives from Feeling Bad and hostility to any kind of negative feedback is a pretty big contributor to why bigotry festers in these spaces.
