I need to work on some of the characters apart of the Damned Dawn, so I'm gonna try answering some of these! It'll just be Beatrice and Eira right now. Their full stories aren't public rn, but.. it will be soon! I hope! Once I get the characters and story fleshed out, all I'll need to do next is start finding a good song for the first animatic!
I'll start Eira off with this first one, as I've a better idea of how it works for her. I think she'd be the sort to automatically look away when she's lying, with an additional higher pitch of tone. Her parents have picked up on this, so when the grand Escape happened, when perhaps she had to lie to them about it, I think she forced herself to look them in the eye and keep her voice steady. A challenging feat and one she couldn't hold onto for long. I'm not sure if she could pick up on the tell with others.
- Beatrice would look them right in the eye when lying. She'd offer short sentences, not offering very much information at all. I'd say she'd learned to do this from her upbringing, her usual job being to be shown and not speak. Which, well. She'd not speak in general. Maybe it started to become her nature in general, and it'd be hard to differentiate if she was lying because she talked in that manner every time she was spoken to. I think she would be able to tell if another was lying in this manner, though. If they went from talkative to not.
Beatrice wasn't comfortable with silence. As a child, before her kidnapping, it never was fully silent around her home. Between listening to her family when they were around the house, listening to the wildlife outside, hearing the wind, or crickets at night.. there was noise. There was often some sort of noise. After the kidnapping, when shoved into the quiet, isolating broom closet, it was quiet. It was silent. She didn't like it at all. She tried to fill the silence, but she was yelled at. So, she was forced to get used to it. With growing into adulthood, she still doesn't like it, but doesn't do anything to fix her dislike.
- Eira welcomes it, what with being in the more bustling part of the castle. I mean, there's noise everywhere! Talking, meetings, lessons, chatter from servants bustling around. She'd rather silence, an escape.
Eira doesn't like mice, rodents, or anything of the like. Should a mouse come into the castle, probably through the servant halls, she is b-lining it in the different direction. She is nowhere near that mouse.
- Cutting in with a different character, I think one of Cameron's fears would be getting caught in netting. They know it's stupid, because it's generally fine every time they throw the netting overboard their fishing boat. What if though, one time they throw it overboard and they get their wing or talon stuck? Then they'll fall with the netting into the water and drown. It haunts their nightmares sometimes.
- Beatrice I'm not quite sure for stupid fears. Maybe messing up in front of others. With all eyes on her, she doesn't want to mess up, make a fool of herself. She puts on a front she doesn't care, that she ignores it all. Beneath? Maybe it still affects her.
Eira's lessons. They go from morning until dusk during her teenage years. Learning all sorts of things, including how to be a leader. How to do politics. She was relieved when they finally came to an end, but then when she was in her 20's, they started a new routine. Finding suitors for her. The bane of her existence, talking to men. The flirting is the worst. How many times must she repeat that she doesn't like any of them for it to stop? She doesn't even like men in general, but her parents refuse to understand.
- Beatrice doesn't enjoy having a guard by her side, even into adulthood. Like they still can't trust her to not try and escape, even all these years later. They say its there to protect her, but she knows the real reason.
I think Cameron tries to hype themself up. But only when they're sure they're alone. It feels embarrassing, complimenting themself around others. Trying to gain courage. Sometimes they only do it in their head, even when they know their alone. Just in case they aren't actually alone.
I think Eira and Beatrice are both polite when they're around the royalty. Beatrice deviates with how quiet she is. She doesn't speak unless spoken to, and speaks only in short, cohesive sentences. Eira is a bit more friendly. She can hold a long conversation without delay.
Okay I think I'll stop there! Not quite sure about the other questions, and I've been at this for an hour. Very helpful list nonetheless.
